Who are we?

This board originally came together as a group of Diana Gabaldon booklovers, we romped through THE books and went onward, exploring all kinds of esoteric topics, we joked and laughed and got to know each other well. We poured out our souls to each other, we explored unknown realms, we shared in our beliefs. Together we prayed for each other and lived through our ups and downs. Some of us have visited together, some even married, like a dreamcatcher we were all caught together in a layer of time and space...We are a Spirit Family, wherever our lives have taken us, a grid invisible to the human eye unites us through time.
I wonder who still comes to read this board? I didn't sign on for ages, but you all have a place in my heart.

My life has side-stepped into caring full-time for both my parents, each of which is now a Hospice patient. Every day is a new adventure, one step further along this path of life. We have one child still home and in high school and of course I must continue to work outside the home full time. I am tired and at times overwhelmed, but am learning to let go of so much that I had at one time thought was essential. I owe so many people email....but by the time I flop down to the computer at night (or morning, if I have worked that night), I am so exhausted that I just can't fathom typing a coherant line...hahahahaha. I'm having a lot of trouble typing this correctly, since I had a cataract operation this morning and it's tough to wear a pair of glasses on one eye, with a huge patch sticking out over the other eye! All went well. Now, if I can only follow doctor's orders for a month! The patch will come off in the morning (Friday, May 12) and eventually I can get new glasses corrected for the new lens that was implanted today. I will need to do the same at some future date for the other eye.

There's my latest news. How about the rest of you?

It is quite amazing to think that you had eye surgery and you are typing at the moment 'g', the miracle of modern technology. I was born with a cararact in one eye but in my case there is nothing to do about it, it's small but blocks my sight it's just that my optical nerve has never worked so removing it would do no good. I am finally back in telecom (underpaid but back) but Gary has been working in California now for a year and a half and I have no idea when he will live here with us again. It is very hard not having any help at the house or with the kids etc. but we are getting by. Alex is now a 9th grader and an incrediable guitar player Nicole is 6th grade a kicking butt in travel soccer. Our sweet dog Shadow died last month and it has been very very hard to learn to live without him I guess with Gary gone i gave all my affection to the dog. I think of you all the time and sure could use any good vibes you all can send my way. The family have been behind me one hundred per cent and I couldn't have done it without them. I'm just finishing up my last two electives for my BScN and I will be graduating in October. I have just returned from Vancouver (yesterday) where I attended the World Congress for Hemophilia and.....I gave a presentation for a group of delegates. This is really amazing for me as you all know how shy and quiet I am......LOL. The kids are growing and beginning to take off in different directions. Dave is still busy with the business...oh and we have a new family member, Bandit-he's a husky/lab mix with one blue eye and one brown eye. We love him to bits. Betsy!!!!
