Author: Ron
Subject: Hi Viive. Maybe I should become Clouseau again, because I am wondering where you were when you were at the table next to Diana. I hadn't heard that she would be in TO. Anyway, happy to hear that you met her again. We Fergus attendees see our favourite author about every two years. Every time, though, is like the first. She certainly is unlike many other authors. She willingly poses with us in any grouping we wish. Besides being a great story teller, she's a fine person.
In reply to: Viive 's message, "Guess where I just was!!!

I was at a luncheon with Diana Gabaldon!

[> [> It was not an advertised appearance, from what I could find out. It was really aimed at book sellers, so other than about ten people who had won tickets (we could be identified by the gift bags full of books we were given, complete with tissue paper and pretty ribbons, heh) no one was acting particularily bowled over, infatuated and so on. Until she'd finished speaking. She really is a born storyteller! She started out reciting the following, to explain the difference between how she got the attention of the football players who would sleep in the front row of her morning science of anatomy lecture classes (thinking it was an 'easy' science credit) vs. the pleasure of speaking to audiences who have chosen to come to listen to her... "In days of old when Knights were bold.... And condoms weren't invented... They stuck a sock upon their cock... And babies were prevented. "
