Subject: update...may you live in interesting times

Okay...here's the update...so, having decided to adopt, DH and I go the whole int'l route. .... only to be rejected by a nation to remain nameless (per multiple agencies, I might add)...between my PMDD and my autoimmune, I'm apparently psychologically unstable - no kidding, I married a man with three kids - and physically unable to care for a child. (Tell that to the three whose laundry i'm currently doing). So, having moved from plan A to plan B, we're now on plan C. Ah yes...independent adoption. Domestic...infant... only, in our state, you can't advertise...so we're getting to play the "how do we do this" game...who knew all those yearbooks I sponsored would come in handy as I/we create a dear birthmother profile. My brain is never still.

The boys are very supportive. The eldest, in the throes of his latest setback (long story...picture me in bed with killer headache/virus and spouse calling to tell me he's on his way with same...having been suspended for the remainder of the schoolday) tells me that he's sorry he won't have more influence on his sister - at least then I'd get some help countering the soccer psychos. #3 wants his sister NOW. #2 is pretty noncommittal, but is, apparently, discussing same at school.

Keep us in your thoughts. The whole homestudy process, I am convinced, is designed to weed out the faint at heart!

[> (*(*(*(*(MIchelle)*)*)*)*) my heart goes out to you and your family on this journey....all I know is that maybe in some ways it's a blessing in disguise to go the route you're now pursuing. I wish I had some concrete advice to share on the topic but all I have is prayers for you, prayers of joy and hope, that even now, when you and your wee one haven't yet met, your lives are propelling you towards each other, like an unstoppable magnet... -- with love, Viive, 01:16:16 12/07/06 Thu

[> Michelle, my thoughts are with you. It looks like a long road ahead of you now, but I'm sure there is a baby destined to be in your care and with your love. -- Isabelle, 18:52:07 12/12/06 Tue
