Subject: Something Fun!!!!

A big HUGE HUG to everyone!!!! Life sure has a way of keeping us busy, doesn't it?

I've posted a photo under the Photos Three section. I got a new tattoo on Wednesday and I am really pleased with it. It wasn't nearly as painful as I had been led to believe (or I have no sense, no feeling, LOL), and I think it looks quite nice.

Now, I've been wrestling with an idea for quite some time but I have finally decided to go back to school next year and finish my BScN. It will take me a total of 19 months to do it...but it will be worth it and I've been aching to go back for a while now. I spent last weekend talking with several educators while doing a course and they were soo encouraging. I am likely going to do one of my electives during the Spring just to get on top of things and I was also playing with the idea of doing an essay writing course at our local community college as it's been far too long since I've had to write an essay. Figured this could only help.

If you could return to school to take any course you want, what would be your choice?

Martina, thanks for the reminder that we need the fun things in life as well!!!!

[> Cool about the tattoo, Keira. I think I eventually want to get one as well. A friend of mine is a graphic artist so I think I will get her to design it for me since I know the basic things I want, just not sure how to put it all together into one design. Good for you to go back to school! I played around with the idea of going back for my masters but I don't know if I am ready for that in my life yet, it is busy enough at the moment. I think if I could take any course I wanted, or degree program I wanted, I would do something in the health sciences. I love teaching, don't get me wrong, I just wish that politicians would keep their hands out of the classrooms and let us teach. I know it is not much (if any) better in the health care system, it is just that it is something I have always thought would be exciting. -- Brenda, 11:49:46 11/22/03 Sat

[> Hi Keira, good to see you here! This definitely is a time to change things and start something new! May I ask what BScN is?? Sorry, but I''ve never heard that before. -- Ellen, 12:39:58 11/22/03 Sat

[> Cool! Welcome to the world of tattoos! I have 2 and have been working on a design for a faery (of course) with celtic wings but haven't quite gotten it right yet. I'll go check out your pic too! If I could take more classes, I guess it would be metallergy/jewelry making with gold. I've only worked with silver and I'd love to know how to cast pieces. So much equipment tho' and it's spendy stuff. I also want to take my reiki stuff (if I ever have the time and money) and I'd like to learn another language. Probably spanish as we have many mexican folks around here now and it's fairly easy to learn. I'd take classes all the time if I could afford them and had the time. I love to learn new stuff. Good for you! Hugs too... -- Lori, 15:07:21 11/22/03 Sat

[> JS has two tattoos and he always wants me to get one too. I am not so sure about it, I hate pain!*G* Yeah, I would like to know WHERE you have it too!*lol* -- Martina, 05:15:38 11/24/03 Mon

[> To answer your question, I would like to take courses in alternative healing. I have the Reiki Master and would like to do more related to that. Oh and yes, what the heck is BScN??? *g* -- Martina, 05:19:15 11/24/03 Mon

[> [> LOL-jeez, it's great being back here, even if it is still sporatic. The tattoo is on my back, just below my neck collar line. It can be covered easily when I'm at work but shown off with a lower neck line. I'm really thrilled that I got it. BScN is a university degree, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. It is not necessary to have a degree to nurse, only a diploma, so a degree is the next step up. It's going to be a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end. Martina, I only have my second degree in Reiki, not a master level yet-but that will come when the time is right. -- Keira, 22:17:45 11/24/03 Mon

[> Keira i LOVE your tattoo I have beem thinking of getting a second one myself. Was this one you designed or did the tattoo artist have the idea? Speaking of you all with Reiki I could sure use some sent my way. Many isssues but latley bad low back and arms/hands going numb during sleep. Hope you all are good. Keira I don't know that I would want to go back to school hahaha. Much love. -- Reenie, 09:35:57 11/29/03 Sat

[> [> Reenie!!!!! Miss you!!!!!! The tattoo is one I found on the net. The actual design also has an outer bit of knots also but I thought I'd go for the simple first and have the more intricate knotting added later. Hmmm...hands and arms going numb at night? Sounds a bit like carpel tunnel syndrome. Have you had it checked out? It can be repaired very easily these days, usually under a local or just a conscious sedation if there are no complications. I'll be sending you some Reiki to help your back and arms. Hopefully the other issues will sort themselves out. Thinking of you!!!!!! -- Keira, 10:04:07 12/01/03 Mon

[> [> [> Also, if you can find a very gifted massage therapist, sometimes they can work wonders and you can avoid surgery!!!! Just my two cents worth... and hi Reenie...miss you, too. -- Betsy, 12:51:50 12/04/03 Thu
