Subject: I don't celebrate halloween. Not for any religous or spiritual reason, just that it isn't celebrated in Australia.

[> [> When I was younger, there was alot more mischief going on. Now it's pretty much all about the Trick or Treat. Teenagers used to smash pumpkins in the streets, throw eggs at everything, and throw toilet paper around (ingeniously called "toiletpapering" haha What you do is hold the end of the roll and then throw the roll so that it all comes out like a big long streamer. If you do it right, you can decorate entire trees and statues.) Oh and we can't forget about spraying shaving cream all over the place. You get the idea. These days, there are specific hours for trick or treat and the big kids have parties, if they don't still go out to get as much candy as possible. My 10 yr old and 13 yr old both have friends coming over because this is a nice big neighborhood. *G* My 17yr old has a party to go to. I pass out candy while my husband goes with my little one. And it will be nice weather, too. -- Lissa, 14:45:32 10/31/03 Fri

[> [> [> Oh Lissa, in Friday's front page newspaper there was a pic of a town in CT. One street had every tree TP'ed. Wanted to post it here as an explaination to your post but unfortunately this pic is not online at the newspaper:(! Around here mischief night is almost nonexsistent. There were a few spots of toilet paper morning after halloween. I wondered if those houses didn't have candy?! -- JeanClaire*, 07:12:01 11/03/03 Mon
