Tsoop got the finale pre-finale Firsty as we moved to the Sigma Board and promised not to traumatize the happy little star by letting him watch Chosen. Pixiskater got consolation chocolate to share with all and sundry. BadPenguin’s mental camera was focussed on the Buffybot’s “Darn your sinister attraction” moment. A forward-thinking Eurydice shouted out for Splilah and Spwen. MTsFan whispered Spuffy, Xanya, and VDDGAAA and hoped for a heroic Dawn memory. SpikedPeaches shared a pretty comprehensive list of Spike ‘ships while feeling strangely fine about things. Lipbalm Addict ‘shipped LA/Wine. StillHisGirl longed for a Von Trapp family ending at Casa Summers. Greenstone ‘shipped Spuffy, Spordo, and Xanya while picturing nekkid Spike, while Horty directed all over to Lis886’s rant on the Alpha Board. Subliminalpolka was in for the Spordo ‘SotD and reminded all of Buffy’s Class Protector moment from The Prom. Crumpet shouted out to Muppet4eva while hoping the Buffyverse lives on. AH Fan voted Woz 4ever. Kimono-clad Chani had just settled down for a little suppuku. Girl Guide Jones remembered the scream scene from Tabula Rasa as the group reacted to vamps, and gained a “because I’m the host” Firsty. DistractoGirl was trying to get together a kitten poker match. An oddly sad ChrissieLinnit’s favorite memory was Spike “exercising” in Gone and tried vainly to get her heart back into one piece. ARN envisioned Sparmony on AtS. Marzipan was a proud Spordo fan and gave thanks to the absent Ancientpeas. Sniffly Wyvern proved her illness via viewing habits and pled for chocolate. Dancing of the Sackcloth and Ashes Horde (and whose were the ashes, I’d like to know?) alternated Spuffy with sobs and other noises. Falcifer was in for Spred, Spordo, and Bake, while hoping for Buffy of the first 5/7ths to return. Jaymzangel whimpered for Mr. Gordo and radiated Spike love. Morgain had RIP wishes (Rest In Peace, and Resurrect Into Phoenix) for Spike. Gemma closed the Thread for Spike’s true colors, shining through. 'Ship of the Day In the end, it's all about us and BtVS. Just celebrate Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the series! Question of the Day: The Bar's open, what'll you have?

Since you commented on the length of my shipping, Sharky, and also since it's the end of Buffy, as far as I can remember, the above is a list of every ship I've ever thought was cute.

And I'm still feeling ok, actually. Chosen happened, and Spike died... I'm not going to dwell on it. I do have issues with the plotline of season 7, but this isn't the place to rant about it. So I'm going to focus on Angel season 5, and try to puzzle out just how the hell they're gonna get Spike on there now. If I can draw my mind away from Spangel of course ;-)

He was what's fondly known as a character :)

During his life, he survived both tuberculosis and meningitis, owned a chain of butcher's stores (so how he managed to end up with a vegetarian granddaughter is anyone's guess!), was involved with the entertainment industry, being a very talented musician, was, at various times during WW2 and beyond, both a volunteer fireman and a special police constable. He was nearly 80 years old when he retired from work. He married three times, the last time 16 years ago. On our last family holiday (by which I mean, myself and my sister, our parents and my granddad and his wife - you should have seen us all trying to go through check in at the airport; granddad was the only one who was comfortable with flying, though he preferred cruising when he had the option) and one night he got up on stage in the holiday complex's bar and played jazz harmonica with the resident band! I have so many wonderful memories of him, they make the less pleasant ones of recent moths just fade away. He was an amazing man and I loved him a lot.

First time I ran into SVP was at a hotel in Rotterdam, they had one of those little displays that show their specialty drinks sitting on each table in the bar, and it had SVP at the bottom. I asked the waitress what it stood for and she told me.

I was like, you're not French! You're Dutch, we're in the Netherlands, this card is written in English, why do you have a French abbreviation here? Her answer? The Dutch thought it added a bit of extra class. :-)

You didn't like the matrix? Now, I'm sad, too. Not much of a story? Did they focus all on the special effects and ignore good storytelling? I hate when they do that. On the other hand, I've seen the previews for Charlie's Angels 2 and that looks like a well-done, brainless, very very fun movie to watch. I can hardly wait, the tongue-in-cheek zany humor always make me laugh so much. :-D

...Couldn't disagree more. But hey, I haven't actually seen the ep, only dissected the script. Hmmmm...maybe I put too much emphasis on scripts, read them like they were Shakespeare or something. Don't really care about screenplay. But the script for the finale is not great. Maybe the special effects somehow make up for it.

You can't tempt me into speaking Italian! Today was the last time I ever have to do it...(unless I want to). I had my exam today(which went well, I think) you see, and unless I fail it and have to re-take it in September, that's it for me and Italian. Next (school) year I'm streamlining to only doing French and German. (Italian was only ever a 3rd subject for me, because I started it from scratch last Sept.) Not that I don't like it of course, it's a lovely language, but I'm better off sticking with the things I've done since I was 11 and 13 respectively.

And Sharky, I agree with SHG completely about the DSN :-)

Never took German and really wish I did. Maybe some day. :o) Seems *super* hard though with all that crazy conjugation and (seemingly) random capitalization! :op Wanna teach me? :o)

I'm okay with Spanish, not so great with French. Italian-- I can read a menu and that's about it. ;o) And I'm almost always too scared to actually *speak* them, but I understand okay. So, really, not so much.

A lot of people I know think German makes much more sense (technically) than French, Spanish, Italian etc...
Conjugations aren't difficult - the thing that most people find hard at first is cases (and case spotting). And the capitalisation is only nouns - you get used to it :-)
