Speaking from my own experience, I usually find that fusions are much more viable than crossovers, ESPECIALLY for comedic purposes as you can use the primary source to parody/satirise the secondary one. I'd link to some from Simpsons fandom or my Azumanga Daioh/Cardcaptor Sakura fic, but they're all scripts and nobody here wants to see THAT, oh dear me no. :-)
