I find it highly amusing, in a disappointing way, that you take offense to statements made about others -- directed at others -- and not you. This still reminds me of the Lion and Monkey story.

Oh, by the way, I managed to find the true version of it. It's more of a folk parable than one of Aesop's Fables:

The lion, king of all the beasts, was thirsty. So he decreed, "Let the ugliest creature get me some water."

Everyone expected the hippo to go. The monkey suddenly burst out, "I'm not going!"
