Subject: Wrong. I have said nothing about Man U or about club v. national duties. I have also said nothing about injuries. I judge Roy Keane purely on his lack of tolerance. This is a World Cup. It means playing with players you don't meet every day in an environment you are not used to for a boss you do not work with that closely. Every other World Cup player in the tournament is in exactly the same boat. They all tolerate it, because its the price to pay for playing for your country in the greatest football competition ever. If Roy Keane thinks he is above it, the World Cup is better off without him.
In reply to: WEB 's message, "Well from what I've heard it seems Keane wanted the rest of the squad and management to have the same professionalism as him. He's used to doing things properly and he obviously expects the same from others. He's a winner. Plus look at all the injuries other countries are picking up - if their training facilities are not up to scratch then he has every right to say so. Theres too much anti-Man Utd cliched stuff coming from you and I expected better. Think for yourself and stop being so predictable." on 13:44:42 05/23/02 Thu

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> The FA Cup is the greatest football competition ever. This is a well known fact so you're wrong their for a set off. Listen - the FAI officials and a lot of the Irish players are just there for a holiday. Keane wants to win - McCarthy and the FAI should have listened to him. He's been there and done it at the highest level (European club football is a far higher standar than the World Cup) - he knows what he's on about. Ireland may aswell come home now. -- WEB, 14:10:07 05/23/02 Thu (62.6.91.90)

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> My arse! They still want to win. They're not good enough to win the World Cup with or without him but to say the rest are just there for a holiday is pure nonsense. Didn't they get out of a very difficult qaulifying group playing without him for half the games anyway? (could be wrong) -- RS, 14:19:26 05/23/02 Thu (213.121.212.121)

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Yeah, you can tell what a world-renowned competition the FA Cup is these days by the fact that his own club decided to drop out of it to play in some tin-pot (but more lucrative) tournament in South America. He's an arrogant thug. -- BG, 14:36:34 05/23/02 Thu (195.195.249.9)

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> If you believe that Man Utd dropped out of the FA Cup just to make money then your a bigger fool than I thought you were. Haven't you got an online petition to set up or something. leave the football debate to people who know what they're talking about. Now run along and stop spouting cliches at me. -- WEB, 15:03:13 05/23/02 Thu (213.122.161.131)

Could you spare a few of your precious moments to enlighten me as to why the fuck they did drop out of the FA Cup, as I am obviously so out of touch. Don't tell me - they were running drugs for Nick Harrison. -- BG, 15:39:36 05/23/02 Thu (195.195.249.9)

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> [> It was a purely selfless act to help bring the World Cup to England. No really, honest it was. They're like that at Old Trafford you know, always thinking of others and putting the state of the National game ahead of their own personal needs and ambitions! -- The Flying Pig, 16:14:27 05/23/02 Thu (213.121.212.121)
