I can't understand how the government could be so stupid! I just received an article from a friend who's a newshound, you know the kind I mean, reads every paper online, every one in print, and listens to cnn constantly. Anyhoot, this article he sent me has me seeing red! What makes the federal "authorities" so damned arrogant? Why is it we can fight side by side with the British in war and share food there but won't accept NATA rations for our hurricane survivors because they have meat in them? Before I have a stroke, let me leave you the url so you can read for yourself.

What utter nonsense is going on down south with government red tape! This is only one example, but one of the worst. I read an article last night that fema over-ordered ice and water for the hurricane victims and are now shipping the ice to warehouses far from the effected area, and excess bottled water has been dumped by truckloads into fields in Florida in the past! Another thing I question is why the hell did they ship all that stuff to just the major cities? What about the small rural towns, who are always the last getting back utilies? Does nobody think of giving them some of the help? The truck drivers drove through many of these small communities and never even gave these folks a thought? Yes, I know, "We had orders to deliver it to a particular place". Who the hell did the planning on this fiasco? Yes, you need a lot more in the big cities, like New Orleans and the places nearest the gulf, but for heaven's sake, does nobody realize that the folks out in the country or in small towns or cities will be the last to get back power and other utilities almost every time there's a disaster of this kind and therefore need help for a longer period of time? What if they have no vehicle to get to the big cities to try to get help, or it was damaged so they can't go anywhere?

Ok, I will shut up now, but I may take a week or two to get my temper cooled down. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
