Subject: An update on Jim, from Lin's e-mail

News 'Flash'! WE GET A BREAK TOMORROW...JIM GOES FOR HIS CATSCAN SO THEY CAN CLOSE IN ON THE REMAINDER OF THE CANCER. EVEN THOUGH HE DID SUPER WITH EATING AND LIQUIDS OVER THE WEEKEND, ALL OF THE RADIATION CAUGHT UP WITH HIM FINALLY AND HE LOST WEIGHT AGAIN. HE LOST THE 2 LBS HE HAD GAINED BACK PLUS 2 MORE SO HE IS NOW DOWN TO 129. IT'S NORMAL AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME AND HE IS LOOKING BETTER EVEN THOUGH HE IS THINNER. HIS COLORING IS EXCELLENT AND HIS BLOOD PRESSURE IS 120 OVER 60!!! HE IS EVEN EATING A BIT MORE BREAKFAST AND LUNCH AND BACK ON HIS 10 PM BOOST PLUS, SO HE KNOWS HE HAS TO KEEP THIS UP TO KEEP HIS STRENGTH WHERE IT IS AND FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE RADIATION TO WORK. THE CATSCAN WILL SHOW THE THERAPISTS EXACTLY HOW MUCH THE CANCER HAS SHRUNK AND EXACTLY WHERE THE GOOD CANCER FREE AREAS AROUND IT ARE. THEY DON'T WANT TO MISS THE REST OF THIS 'MONSTER' THAT TRIED TO GET MY JIM. WE ARE CLOSING IN ON THE END OF IT!!!! WE WILL BOTH BE ABLE TO GET SOME MUCH NEEDED EXTRA SLEEP AS HE WON'T HAVE THE IV OR THE RADIATION-- JUST THE CAT SCAN IT WILL GIVE US A GOOD 2 HOURS IN THE LATE AFTERNOON! RIGHT UP MY ALLEY AND ADDED TO JIM'S NEW ONE. A 'FRIEND' GOT HER LAST CHEMO AND RADIATION TODAY AND JUST HAS TO GO OUT TO MOFFIT FOR HER FINAL CLEARANCE! ANOTHER IS ON HER 2 WEEKS REPREIVE FROM HER CHEMO, AND WILL BE BACK ABOUT THE TIME WE WILL BE SAYING GOODBY TO THE REST OF OUR AFTERNOON CHAIR NEIGHBORS. ANYWAY PLEASE SAY A PRAYER THAT THE CATSCAN WILL SHOW THAT DASTARDLY LITTLE SUCKER IS THIS CLOSE TO GONE!
