Initially, Tia was shocked when Corum pulled the sandwich away and kissed her on the cheek. When she realized that the kiss was only a gesture of friendship she smiled. It was really nice to have friend like the skull-staff wielder. He didn’t ogle her with lust in his eyes, treating her like a real person rather than the sex-goddess most men saw because of her nymphish magic.

They continued to feed each other the sandwich while listening to the conversation going on at the table. Tia could relate to Laurel's love of nature since she too had such a love due to her mother's influence. She also found herself nodding in agreement to many of the things Ravin and Erlic said about the art of thievery although she never got into the deeper aspects of the profession that dealt with elaborate disguises, spying, lip-reading to any extent, or mimicking another person.

Maybe its time I learned some of that stuff, she thought. She glanced at Ravin then shook her head, not knowing him well enough yet to discuss her interest with him. Her eyes turned to Erlic. Perhaps he would be willing to teach her a few things. She had overheard Marz calling him his teacher so maybe he wouldn't mind having another student.

Tia decided that she would broach the subject with Erlic at another time when she caught him alone. She fed the last bite of sandwich to Corum then refilled their glasses with wine. A giggle escaped her when Brat crawled up on the table carrying a banana that he shoved in Corum's face. "I think he wants you to peel it then feed it to him," she whispered. "Once you're done with that we can get a few hours of sleep if you like." When she remembered his head injury she frowned slightly. "Would it be all right if I stayed in you room tonight, Corum? You still seem a bit confused so I really don't want to leave you alone."
