Subject: Farewells, and waiting for the others
In reply to: Tristan and Laurel 's message, "Trying new attitudes" on 02:14:45 11/18/01 Sun

Eremis brought his eyes up from his plate to stare at Tristan after receiving his mind message. Suddenly, he was overcome with emotion, and had to swallow around the lump that had formed in his throat. He wouldn't miss the constant danger they found themselves in here in Neromba, but he'd definitely miss his traveling companions, especially Tristan. The dragon was the closest friend he ever had, and soon they would be parting company.

"I'll miss you too," he mentally sent back to the dragon. "Stay safe, and hurry back to Bizmar. Then we'll get together and you can tell me all about the great adventures you got into after I left." The healer lowered his eyes, regretting the lack of courage that kept him from wanting to be a part of such adventures. "Thank you for being a great friend, Tristan. I'll always remember our time together."

After greeting Laurel, Dalo set down his napkin and turned to Eremis. "I'm ready to leave when you are. We have to get our gear then meet the Queen in her laboratory. Shortly afterwards, we'll be back in Bizmar."

The beastmaster got to his feet and wished everyone safe travels, averting his eyes from Marz and Tristan all the while. He nodded to Erlic before leaving the room, stopping at the stairs to wait for Eremis.

"I hope to see you all again soon," the healer said, glancing at the faces around the table. He paused before Laurel, giving her a wistful smile. "Thanks for offering to teach me the bow. I was looking forward to the lessons. Hopefully, I can find someone in Bizmar who will be willing to train me." Eremis turned to meet Tristan's eyes then had to blink back tears as he rushed from the room after uttering a hasty farewell to everyone.

The sudden silence that hung over the room was broken by Marz when he spoke to Erlic. "Are we taking off for those branches now?" He nodded his understanding after Erlic explained that they would wait to see if Valhorek returned to Neromba with the Queen. Obviously, he believed that a decent healer was needed before they undertook the quest for the branches.

"Where the hell is the rest of our merry, little group?" Marz asked a moment later. "When I last saw Ravin, he was passed out cold in the bathing room." His eyes came to rest on Laurel. "And, where's your brother hiding out this morning?"

Tia swallowed a piece of ham then cleared her throat before speaking up. "I saw the others in the bathing hall a little while ago. I'm sure that once they finish washing up, they'll join us for breakfast."

Marz gave the petite thief a grin then piled more eggs onto his plate before passing the platter to Laurel. The druidess seemed to be in an awfully good mood today. Marz couldn't help but notice that the cheery look on her face revealed a prettiness that he hadn't seen in her before. Corum also appeared to be a lot happier than normal this morning, and he attributed that to Tia's influence.

After gulping down some eggs he leaned a little closer to the skull-staff wielder. "We better keep our eyes open for Ginza today since you and me are the only ones who know what he looks like. I'm still convinced that I saw him and his gang hiding out near the palace. They might try to follow us when we leave to look for those branches, so we have to stay alert.

He glanced at Tristan then, wondering if he had changed his mind about carrying him in dragon form. Well, it really didn't matter because there were plenty of undead Rocs available. Marz also wondered if he should go through the chakra meditation exercises Erlic showed him last night while they were waiting for Valhorek. He remembered his sensai saying the he was to do them several times a day but doubted he'd find much time for such things once they set off in search of the magical branches.
