Rowan felt too dull-witted to even notice Tia’s leaving the pool, but once he’d soaked in the warm water long enough, he began to feel a little better. The nasty hot-cold feeling that kept steeling over his body vanished temporarily, and the slight bellyache soon disappeared as well. When he became more aware of his surroundings, his eyes sought out Tia, just out of curiosity for where she’d gone, and was surprised to see her staring right back at him. She blushed, or maybe she blushed, he couldn’t be sure, before turning away from him and concentrating on drying her hair.

Well, now there’s a silly girl, he thought fondly, politely turning away from her to give her some privacy. Obviously, likes what she sees, but fled the coop before I could do more than say, ‘hello.’ It tickled him that Tia thought him irresistible to look at, but at the same time bothered him somewhat. He didn’t want to have to deal with a shy girl. It was an immense relief (maybe a little too immense for his tastes, but oh well) to know that she might find him attractive, but if she were gonna be shy about it… It would just make things that much harder.

He himself wasn’t at all shy, especially when it came to romancing a pretty woman (he didn’t romance men; it was more like coming to a mutual understanding that involved a bed and a private room). But…he wasn’t particularly aggressive either, maybe cause he feared….

Nah, no Silvertree ever feared rejection. That was just plain silly. So stop thinking about it, airhead, he accused himself, and he did just that, turning to lather his body with the bar of scented soap as if it were the most important thing on his mind right now.

Hard to keep his thoughts from going into that direction when Sarra entered the room. Of course, he’d seen scores of naked women, especially in bathhouses, but this was a woman he’d been thinking about going to bed with last night. And damn, was she a helluva woman! Those tight pants she seemed to favor had never done much to hide the curve of her long legs, but it was still a wonder to see them in all their naked splendor. He noted, too, that she was more, ahh, womanly than Tia, more human, he would have said, as elven girls always looked a little underdeveloped when standing next to their human sisters.

Still, his good breeding kept him from staring, though it didn’t mean he could steal the occasional appreciative glance. She lacked modesty of any sort, too, which always managed to excite him for some reason. Standing in warm water didn’t help him cool his sudden ardor, either, so he thought he’d better get the hell outta here before he either got slapped in the face or (if the lady was in fact more than willing) gave Ravin over there and Jeremy, who'd joined them in the pool, a free show.

But before he could stop himself, he’d opened his mouth. “Hey there,” he said, nodding at Sarra, who looked up at him. “Thanks for last night. Just in case I didn’t say so then.” He laughed softly. “Can’t remember too much of what happened before I passed out like an idiot.”

His eyes started to roam down from her pretty face to her glistening, curvaceous figure, but he caught himself admirably. “Think I’ve soaked long enough,” he muttered, having to purposefully avert his eyes, so that he was no longer even staring at her, but just past her. He grinned, wondering if she thought him a fool because of last night, then realizing that he really didn’t give a damn. “See you downstairs,” he added, before turning and lifting himself out of the pool.

He took his time drying himself, on the off chance that she might be watching. No one could say Rowan wasn’t forever optimistic. He just didn’t like to be the one doing the chasing, and if the woman saw something she liked, he was always more than welcome to give it to her---she had only to ask. Little bit of eye candy never hurt when trying to encourage inspiration, though.

After wrapping a robe around his body and throwing a towel over his shoulder, he retired from the room, after a nod to Ravin, and returned to his own room, whistling to himself as he walked down the hallway. He took some time dressing and drying, combing, and working with his hair, for he’d been raised to be conscious of his appearance, if not vain about it. Which he wasn’t. Not really.

“Handsome devil,” he said, winking at his reflection in the mirror as he finished tying the laces on his shirt. Running his hands one more time through his slightly damp hair, he left the room, and headed for the dining room.

A happy smile came to his face when he saw Tia, though it dampened somewhat to see that she was sitting and chatting with Corum. Shrugging to himself, he went and sat down on her other side, anyway, waiting until she turned before speaking up.

“Morning again,” he said, his grin widening as she turned her violet eyes to him. “Hope I didn’t embarrass you in the bathing room.” He laughed and picked up a pastry, biting into it before continuing with another shrug. “Guess I’m used to real public bathhouses, but I didn’t mean to make you jump out as soon as I arrived.” He gave her a look that was a little more sincere than even he was used to giving. “Anyway, sorry about that.”
