Subject: Talking over a meal

Isobel chuckled as Ravin broke their kiss, his belly making a loud protesting sound at being empty.

"Investigating temples and battling puppets certainly seems to have worked up my appetite," he said. "Why don’t we go back on shore and eat? Maybe I can convince you to help me work on my letters afterwards so one of these days I can write you those love letters you're still waiting for."

Isobel grinned and took his offered hand, walking with him to the cookfire and accepting the java he poured her. She sipped it as they sat beside the fire, one hand idly caressing Ravin's back.

She grinned as Erlic told everyone the good news from Bizmar. Though she had never been there, she found herself entertaining some small fantasy of going there someday. She listened to what Ravin told her of Eremis and sighed.

"No wonder everyone is so upset about his capture... not only is he a friend but an innocent. I hope he will stay that way." She knew only too well what evil men were capable of doing to innocent people, all in the quest for more power.

She stared into her cup for a while, thinking on the past and the future, then turned and kissed Ravin's shoulder, her eyes looking up at him from beneath dark lashes.

"Perhaps we should work on your letters soon. Otherwise you will not be able to write to me when this quest is over, no?" She grinned teasingly. If he wished it, she had no intention of parting his company simply because the quest was finished. But he did not need to know that just yet. It did not often pay to be too free with one's feelings early on, after all.
