After Tristan and Marz helped him to his feet, Argus ceased his gaping. He would have to get used to so many strange things... it was clear, however, that he was not where he thought he was. There were no dragons that turned into people back home... no centaurs. He had never heard of this ruined city they found themselves in, nor had he heard of a religious order called "Sharm". So he had to accept that somehow he had come out in a place very different from home.

He noticed Valhorek taking care of Rowan again and silently chided himself for missing something. He had been in such a hurry to make sure Laurel was all right that he had been lax in his care of the injured. He angrily told himself to stop such foolishness and concentrate on what needed to be done, lest he end up killing someone with his swooning idiocy.

Yet when they began to descend the stairway, Argus found himself moving up behind Laurel. She looked back at him and he smiled at her handsomely. "Ay've got yer back, La'el," he whispered softly.

When the voices started Argus nearly jumped out of his skin. He began preparing a Turn Undead spell, clutching at the Holy Symbol of the Sun that he wore around his neck. The white face appeared before them and he held his symbol aloft, barking the words to the spell at the ghostly face. It retreated before them, much to Argus' relief.

Then Rowan came running up telling them to go back, and Laurel stopped. Argus simply waited behind her to see what she would do.
