Corum was glad that he was able to help, and didn’t mind slicing the carrots. In fact this was a pretty easy task considering he had constantly done it for Yorik, his old mentor. At the time Corum knew absolutely nothing about cooking, or preparing food, but Yorik did, and he showed him how to prepare various foodstuffs, cut, and slice vegetables, and actually cook the food. When his mentor had been murdered, Corum had learned enough about cooking that he felt he didn’t need anyone else.

Corum sliced the carrots nicely, and found some other vegetables as well. Once they were sliced, he handed them over to Marz, who was working on something that smelled rather good, and Corum was quite hungry. He decided to pour himself a cup of java, and sat at the table since he had finished what he was doing.

Made in a bar at the railway station, and there’s a story, a kind of fable, on a card at the corner table. On it is a message; been there some time. It starts off, ‘the coffee tasted so fine….’.

Well it was quite obvious to Corum that Yorik was still up to his old tricks. Eventually, however, he was able to divert his thoughts from Yorik to the food that was placed in front of him. He quickly dug in, savoring the splendid tastes of the food.

“Nice job Marz,” Corum managed to say while still chewing his food. Corum made sure that he gave some of the food to Brat, and Eyes. It seemed that they were his closest friends, and could sometimes read his mind. He thought about that for a moment, and simply shook his head. How could animals read your mind? Impossible.

Then the topic of Tia came up, and Corum continued to eat, but his eyes were riveted on both Tristan, and Marz. He had spoken to Rowan, as well as Tia, and he knew both of them enjoyed each other’s company. All they had to do was tell each other how they felt. It was that simple.

“I personally think that Tia wants Rowan to make the first move, but Rowan ain’t gonna do it,” Corum stated through a mouthful of food. “That much I do know. However, Tia, and I are still good friends, and that’s a good sign.” He went back to eating his food. Man, was he starved.

Maybe, just maybe, naughty girls need love too. I’ve been told time, and time again that you can’t treat love like a game, but I play rough with hearts that never mend.

Corum didn’t think that was the answer to Tia, and Rowan, but he certainly hoped they stopped play acting, and just tell each other what was on their mind. It was really the only way.

Those thoughts shifted out of his mind as the duo of Jeremy, and Saras entered the room. He still had mixed feelings about Saras as to what he/she was, and when he had asked that question, had really never gotten an answer. No problem. He listened, and picked up the fact that Tristan didn’t like Jeremy, and Jeremy didn’t like Tristan. Looked like another game that would have to play out eventually. Corum had a pretty good guess who would win, but decided to keep his thoughts to himself.

He dug back into his food. Right now he was hungry, and he would think about Tia, and the naked woman later. Food was important to sustain one’s self, above all circumstances.

You blockhead!

Corum shifted his eyes wondering whom Yorik was commenting about.
