Ravin buried his face in his hands again when Erlic came to announce that Tegol's minions had murdered twenty-five people at the tavern. His heart and mind were clouded with such grief he found it nearly impossible to think straight. Although he abhorred killing, he finally accepted the fact that there was no place in the world for someone like Tegol Denair. The death of the vicious crimelord would save the lives of other innocents in the future.

When he turned to face Isobel, his eyes were red and puffy from the tears he shed earlier. Quietly, he listened to what she said, mixed emotions filling him. He was happy that she wanted to stand beside him to fight against Tegol's and his minions, yet he feared for her life, as well as the lives of the others that associated with them now. Erlic had been right to warn them of the danger.

Every single day is filled with danger, his mentor Enos used to tell him. Death comes to all men, whether it be by sword, illness, or accident. No one is safe from it. Somehow those words comforted him now. He took Isobel's hand in his, a hint of a smile finally replacing the somberness of his face. "Thank you again for wanting to stand by me……by us." Ravin leaned forward and gave her a kiss that said more than any words could possible convey right now.

Tia felt awful. Even though she didn't know any of those who were injured or killed at the Medieval Tavern, such a senseless attack on innocent people made her sick to her stomach. Hell, she stole from people but she never consciously tried to harm anyone. Why did people like this Tegol Denair have to be so damn mean, anyway?

It would have been easy to back out of helping this group since she really hadn't gotten that close to any of them yet, but she found she loved the sense of camaraderie they gave her. Before meeting Rowan and joining up with his friends, she was always on her own, and often wondered why she felt sad most of the time. Now she knew that that sadness steamed from being alone too much.

"Count me in to help destroy this Tegol and any of his friends who come our way," she said loudly, smiling at Rowan before filling a glass with wine from the liquor cart. "I know I haven't been with you long, but already you all feel like my family and I'm not about to leave my family when the going gets tough."

"Here, here!" Jeremy called out. "I'm not the greatest fighter, but I'll do my best to fight off any jerks that might be waiting for us at Kazabet's palace." He took a sip of his Pepsi then pulled Saras into a hug. "We have to look out for one another because that's what friends do," he whispered into the genie's ear.
