Isobel had stayed beside Ravin when the spiders poured out of the opening beneath the altar. It was obvious he was in no condition to fight, so she did not want to leave him alone. Consequently, she did not get to fight any of the creatures before Tristan, now in dragon form, ordered everyone to get down.

She dropped quickly, not sure what was going on, and winced as she felt the heat of the fire fill the room. A burning spider curled up beside her and she kicked it away in disgust.

Once Tristan had burned the spiders Isobel sat up, looking around. "You are doing better, Ravin?" she asked. But he didn't have time to answer before the ridiculous-looking Sheikh in his Ogre disguise (the wig was slipping off to the side) announced that they had to go underground to find his Peacock Throne.

Ravin informed the Sheikh that they would have to wait a while while a few people recovered enough to go on, and Isobel nodded. She sat down next to Ravin and grinned at him. "I hope the Sheikh is not too disappointed if we do not find his throne immediately," she said.
