Ravin frowned when the dagger landed on Marz. What the hell would he and the youth do in a cave for three minutes? He had the feeling that this game was supposed to be a bit sexual in nature and if that were true, he wanted nothing to do with someone of the same gender. The thief wasn't opposed to such relationships but he would be the first to admit that he never felt any attraction toward another man.

He sipped more of his java while staring at Marz. The youth used to work for Tegol Denair, didn’t he? Well then, he would certainly enjoy spending three minutes learning as much as possible about the crime-lord's operations from Marz if he was willing to share that information. Ravin had spent the past several years disrupting many of Tegol's major plans, and looked forward to seeing him fall from power one day.

Now that he knew how he would spend his allotted time with the ex-gang leader, he looked forward to entering the cave with him. But before he could make a move, Tristan spoke up in a voice that hinted at intoxication of some sort. Ravin glanced at the pile of oddly rolled cigarettes Jeremy had tossed before the fire, wondering if they contained Black Lotus. Since he preferred his highs to come from alcohol, the thief vowed to stay away from any tobacco the otherworldly youth decided to pass out.

Silently, he listened to Rowan and Tristan debate the issue of his going off into a cave with Marz. When Laurel suggested they switch, Ravin was more than happy to comply with her idea although he would miss out on gaining some possibly pertinent information from Marz. He joined Laurel in laughing when Tristan jumped at her suggestion, carting the ex-gang leader off a moment later.

His brown eyes shifted to Erlic and Isobel then. What would the woman think once she learned she was to share a dark cave with him for three minutes? He wasn't feeling very romantic at the moment and hoped he wouldn't disappoint her if he made no moves on her. Isobel was an extremely beautiful woman, yet he didn't desire her or anyone else right now for that matter. Perhaps he could convince her to talk about the tests of enlightenment or her father's sword that supposedly held some deep secrets.

Even at a distance, Ravin could sense that Isobel was upset about the news of assassins having a headquarters hidden within the mountain range. From habit more than anything else, he read her lips as she told Erlic she sensed magic around Alakbar. The only thing his empathy picked up from the boy was fear, intense hunger, and, a touch of relief at being set free of his prison.

He turned his head to the cave housing the boy and the healer and found he could see inside easily. There were a number of men with long beards and turban covered heads gathered around a long table that held the unconscious prince. One man carried a staff and had a picture of a crescent shaped moon painted on his forehead. He opened his palm, revealing a very tiny amber gem that seemed to glow. Another man, who reminded him of Val yet wasn't Val, snatched the gem from his hand. He produced a thin knife used by many healers and smiled as he brought the blade closer to Alakbar.

"What the hell are they doing in there?" Ravin asked, getting to his feet. Suddenly, he was unable to see beyond the opening of the distant cave holding Val and the prince.

"I don't think we want to know what they're doing," Rowan said with a laugh, obviously thinking that Ravin was asking about Tristan and Marz.

The thief blinked then sat down and shook his head. "Another damn vision that I don't understand," he muttered, before gulping down more of his java.
