In reply to: Barry 's message, "It couldn't be...." on 19:36:23 11/27/01 Tue

Corum had been listening to Barry, and was still trying to decipher exactly what the goofy skull was trying to say. Of course, some of the things Barry mentioned were quite dumb. Of course Tia was a woman, any idiot could figure that out. And it made no difference of Barry had an arse or not, Marz could still kick his arse, or bash his head in. That much was plain, and simple.

Corum watched as Barry floated down near Yorik, and attempted to speak to the skull. “What,” Corum asked. “Are you crazy? He ain’t gonna talk to you.” Corum simply shook his head at how ludicrous it was for a skull to talk to another skull. It just didn’t happen.

Well anyway, when Yorik didn’t respond, it seemed that Barry got quite upset at whatever he got upset at, and started to spew several words that Corum had no clue what they meant. From the sounds of the words, it seemed that Barry was unhappy with some addle-cove, and some stupid cleric.

“Like what’s an addle-cove?” Corum asked Barry, as he still wondered why he felt this strange feeling come over him especially in the direction of the skull. “And why are you here anyway? Yeah, you explained something about someone burying you, and stuff like that, but what is it you’re supposed to do? I mean are you supposed to save someone, kill someone, watch over someone? What?”

Corum suddenly noticed a muffin that no one had touched, and quickly devoured it. That’s when Brat and Eyes showed up. “I was wondering where you guys disappeared to,” Corum stated. He placed Brat up onto Yorik’s head, and placed Eyes on his shoulder. “This one’s Brat, and this one’s Eyes,” Corum stated introducing his two animal companions to Barry. “It seems that they’ve been tagging along for some unknown reason, although it’s probably for a free meal at the end of the day.”

Corum looked around, and noticed that one by one, everyone was going outside, probably getting ready for the expedition to find some branches for the Queen. “Hey, we better get outside, and join the others. We’re going to find some branches, and you don’t want to be left behind with a bunch of undead.”

Maybe he's only a little bit crazy, like painters, or composers, or some of those men in Washington.

Corum turned to face Yorik. “Yeah, you’re probably right.” Although he had no idea of who or where Washington was.

“C’mon,” Corum stated. “Let’s like leave this place.” He started to head outside making sure Barry was following him. He still had to wonder why after everyone else had left, Barry was still with him. Maybe the skull was lonely.

Once Corum reached the outside area, he spotted Tia, and Rowan together, and decided to simply wait considering Tia probably wanted to ride with the elf. That was all right by him, since he only wanted Tia as a good friend. He made sure his backpack was secure, and seeing that Barry was with him, started looking at the rocs, trying to figure, which one would be the best.

“Any idea, which one we should take?” Corum asked Barry.

Erlic had been one of the last to leave the dining room area, and once he was outside, simply waited while the others picked out their mounts. He wondered how Isobel would work out within the group considering she was the newest member. He didn’t have much to worry about Sarra, for Ravin had already spoken in her behalf, and if Ravin deemed her worthy, that was enough for him.

Thinking of Ravin, he spotted his friend discussing matters with Laurel, and Isobel. He had to smile inwardly to himself. No matter how hard Ravin tried to remain a loner, he always wound up attracting someone to get him out of his reverie, and now was no exception. Both Laurel, and Isobel were conversing with the younger thief, and for now, Erlic deemed it a good experience for his friend.

He still wondered a bit about Laurel, and would think about what she had stated the night before. He wasn’t sure of how he was supposed to converse with her, but it had been made obvious by her statement, that until he did, there was no sense conversing with her. Perhaps it was the way he spoke to other people? He really didn’t know, and the only way, at least that he knew of, to solve the problem was to either think about it, or face Laurel directly, and ask her. But then again, she had already informed him not to speak to her until he had solved the dilemma on how to speak. He merely shook his head as he caught sight of Barry floating near Corum.

Barry was still an intriguing object of discussion. It was extremely rare to have a skull floating around you. Isobel’s idea was a sound one, unfortunately no one had made mention of it to the skull. Erlic decided to enlist its aid, and see if it would turn out to be friend or foe. He approached Corum, Yorik, and Barry. “A proposition to you Barry,” Erlic stated. “I don’t know if this is a possibility, but are you capable of scouting out areas ahead of the party in case there are any traps or ambushes? It would be a great boon for all of us if you could.”

Erlic didn’t find it foolish to speak to a skull. It had announced itself, and since it was under some form of an old spell could possibly help the group as a whole. Erlic waited for a reply.
