Date Posted: Thu, Jun 14 2012, 6:54:20 Hey all! Getting close to the end of my 2 year suspension. Finally. I had my chemical dependency evaluation yesterday, a requirement in order to request reinstatement. The CD counselor said I was the 'highest functioning' nurse he has ever evaluated for the board. I asked him if he could include that in my evaluation ;-). He declined, lol. I THINK the only possible glitch that would prevent me from reinstating on time is that I missed one call in date. My mom had passed away after a grueling bout with Ovarian Cancer on Wednesday and my son was having a wedding reception at our house for 150 people on Saturday. Saturday comes, I have relatives coming in from different coasts, the reception, dealing with the details of my mom's funeral on Sunday and I forgot to call in. I didn't even realize that I missed a call in day until about 6 weeks later when I was looking at my Labcorp history page. I sent a copy of my mom's obit and a copy of the wedding invite to my case manager. I didn't hear anything back from him so I am hoping he is forgiving. My attorney did say they could restart the clock of my year of call-ins to that date. Hoping he is a decent kind of guy and understands- I haven't missed another day and am always negative. I have had a few conversations with him and he seems to be a decent sort of guy, so fingers crossed :-). Still a little nerve racking. It's funny, most of this time I have thought that my life is on hold waiting for licensure reinstatement, but the closer it gets, the less important it seems. Other than the financial aspect, my life is great- I have an awesome marriage, a great life, wonderful family, etc. The thought of pounding the pavement and having to plead for employment doesn't sound all that appealing, lol. But I will do it and LIKE it :-). I read with interest the post about Aprilbyaday2000's reinstatement. April- I am wondering if you are in OHio and have the same case manager as I. (Since you mentioned your Ohio attorney). [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
