That's what I don't understand. They made a wrong turn (at least that's what I read; could be bad info) and got captured. How is being captured heroic? I just don't get it. In civilian life, are victims of crime (or other catastrophe) necessarily heroic? If someone is kidnapped and tortured, is that person heroic on the basis of that? Because she survived? What if she didn't survive(the hypothetical crime vicim that is)? Would she still be heroic? Is something happening TO you enough to make you a hero?

Now, if she had secret information, and was tortured, and refused to give up that information, then I do see that as heroic, even though it doesn't have anything to do with the original mission. Because the effect of her refusing to give up the information would have furthered the cause or saved other lives or whatever.

But I don't know if that happened. So I don't know what the heroic act was. Can you explain it to me so I will understand?
