Subject: okay shall we try to get this debate rolling again??(m)

How about the recent Dr Phil show about young girls dressing provocatively (mentioned on the *other* board). What are the thoughts on this?

To briefly recap, there was a mother with a 13yo who wore sexy clothes and the mother didnt know what to do with her. There was also the mother of an 11yo who wore makeup, THONGS, and sexy clothes-she said that when she tried to stop her she would borrow friends clothing, etc.

Dr Phil pretty much told both mothers that it appeared that the kids were ruling the roost. I had to agree! I not only cannot fathom an 11yo having so much power in my home that there would be fights about clothing, I cannot understand why these mothers did not set some ground rules LONG AGO.

Whenever I happen to see one of the talk shows with the *out of control kids*, I have to think that this kind of behavior did not just come about overnight. I highly doubt that the children in question were angelic little 7yo's who suddenly morphed into hellions at age 11 or 12.

Anyway, if you can find anything to discuss or debate in this, fire away! :o)
