Sometimes your logic astounds me, IDAHO. After reading these posts, there is no question in my mind that I must side with Crysknife.

Come on! Can't you tell the difference between something that's farfetched, but can never be proved wrong, and something that throws entire branches of physics out the window? It's NOT hard to suspend disbelief for giant worms or Guild Navigators. You can give no argument as to the impossibility of their existance. But, you can also give me no argument that will make me believe that you can travel at or faster than the speed of light without serious time distortions, unless you also make me believe that the entire theory of relativity is bogus.

You might be able to make an argument for the impossibility of gholas or Other Memory, but I'm not so sure you could do it with those either.

With that said, let me tell you why you are wrong with respect to your colonization problems.

First of all, your dating is WAY OFF. Dune takes place in the year 10,191, measured after the time that the Guild began its monopoly on space travel, which apparently happened close to the time of the Butlerian Jihad. To be more precise, the Battle of Corrin took place in 88 B.G. It's also worth mentioning that the Standard Year is slightly shorter than the classic year (by like 20 minutes or something).

According to the official Dune website, the BJ takes place approximately 110 centuries from now. I don't see how you could have any doubt as to our colonization of many worlds in such a long period of time. That's over FIVE TIMES the length of time since the time of Christ!

Please, think carefully before your next reply. You will probably be pissed off after reading this, so just cool down and think.
