Wow gosh Butterfly...you are so right. You've totally changed my mind. What was I thinking?????

Hyper space like in star wars or the Butlerian Jihad in fact rips a hole through the fabric of space and the vessel is able to travel through a different dimension until is rips another hole at the destination point. Traveling through such a rip actually takes more time than the instantaneous travel of fold space, in fact the time it takes to travel between two points is proportional to the distance of the two points in space, but relativistic effects are not relevant in this dimension. That's what happens when the Millenium Falcon or Starship Enterprise travel at hyperspeed or warp speed respectively...they just don't outline it like that.
And that makes about as much sense as fold-space.

Look I can suspend disbelief for giant worms, other memory, and gholas recovering memories etc. But I can also suspend disbelief for interstellar travel that doesn't require one feel relativistic effects. My point is that they are NOT two different suspensions of disbelief. they are just as stupid as each other. No one isn't absurd and the other only slight stretch of the imagination...the are both absurd and stretches of the imagination. You seem to think that somehow giant worms that are the entire ecology of a planet are more realistic that create a drug that can expand consciousness, life, cause interstellar travel, season food, and cause people to orgy is realistic. It's not...it's not in the realm of possibility never ever ever!!

Neither is travelling through space without feeling relativistic effects. But I don't let it ruin a story for me like you do.
That's fine, satisfy yourself with Frank Herbert's six books that are all done. Don't read the prequels. Or read them and then argue about how terrible they are next to the god 's gift to sci-fi lovers of the world that is DUne. I don't care anymore. Nit pick all you want. No matter what Brian and Kevin do, they will never be as good as Frank.

And personally I feel I have a right to be angry when you personally attack and antagonize me. If you listened to the point of my argument and read Crysknife's little Wolverine analogy which didn't make any sense, you'd understand that I don't look for the bad in every-thing and I try to enjoy something even if it isn't scientifically 100 percent feasible. Because as Crysknife even said, it's about expanding your imagination. I don't think the Butlerian Jihad cheapens the series at all because the science was just as goofy as anything else out there.

Have fun, and when you purposefully try to piss people off...what can you excpect from the result you intend.
