So far, Liam has liked his teacher. However, I now have a concern. At some point the spelling words were sent home. Mind you, they don't have a spelling book and the teacher doesn't post them in the classroom.

They are supposed to choose 2 of 5 assignments to do each week.

Well, Liam lost his words. He forgot to ask for them yesterday. He asked today and the teacher told him he'll "just have to find them". WTH???? So, he will get marked down for not having two of the 9 homeworks done and he is bound to fail the spelling test...because this teacher only provides the words one time each week.

I think more and more of myself as a classroom teacher as I deal with the ones my kids get. I send the words home on the back of my parent newsletter each Friday. The kids work with them and I send them home again on Monday. AND...they are posted at the front of the room so that they are always available.

I am so damned sick of public education! I wish I could afford to send my kids to high quality private schools...or homeschool. I'm beginning to think public education should be done away with!
