STORY:The stallion stands a bit away from the herd, watching his family. He whickers softly before lowering his head to graze, watching out for enemies or humans.
JOKER: The ebony mare stands with her son, Fool. She watches her wonderful mate for a moment, proud to belong with this stud, before grazing also.
FOOL: He whinnies immaturely, bounding around his mother, wanting to go off and play. There were no other foals in the herd, so the colt had grown accustom to playing alone. But sometimes Joker or Dice joined in, and even on rare occasions Story.
DICE: She watches Joker envioously; quite obvious was the fact that Story favored her more. She was unable to concieve, and was the lower of the two leading mares. But she did not stoop so low as Izzy.
VOICE: He lay under an oak tree, old bones needing to rest. His old mate Izzy sat beside him, almost as graceful as she had been a long time ago. He watched his son Story bound graze, and then his orbs flicked to Fool. He knew he had not much time to live, he should probably even be put out of his misery.
IZZY: She whickered softly, watching her grand family beside Voice. She had not failed in life; she had carried on her family well. But like Voice, her time was coming too. Numbly aware of her upcoming death, she was trying to enjoy her last while with her family.
