My father is Frank Appleby b- Ramsgate, Kent 1933
Grandfather was Frederick Geo. Appleby b- Hurley, Berks. m-March 16, 1900 in Abingdon, Berks. to Mary Lovegrove.
G-Grandfather was Arthur John, or John Arthur (depending on which record).b-aft. 1861 census in Swyncombe, Oxon.
m-April 22, 1889. to Rose Hutton, in Swyncombe, Oxon.
G-G-Grandfather was James Appleby b-abt. 1820 in Swyncombe, Oxon. and married Mary Ann Lloyd in Swyncombe, Oxon.

Please could anyone help me to fill in blanks and perhaps go back further?

I am also interested in knowing the actual origin of the name Appleby.
