William Appleby and Rebecca Barry were my gggg grandparents. They were from Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

Rebecca's father was Jacob Barry, Sr. b. abt 1755 in South River, d. Mar 1831 in Annapolis. He married, what is listed to be, Susannah Hall on July 31, 1778, but I believe she is actually Susanna Hett, daughter of John Hett and Rachel Jacob, also from Anne Arundel County, MD. I can find no birth record of Susanna(h) Hall born from that period, but there was a Susannah Hett married to Jacob Barry. I've also seen Susannah Hett, listed as a poor girl in two wills. If so, Rachel Jacob was from Capt. John Jacob who married Alice Cheney, and the roots go back to Adam. Please let me know if you find anything else about them.

Jacob Barry's father was Basil Barry, b. abt 1730, died bef 1760. He was also in Anne Arundel County and was married to Rachel (unkn). He fought in the Revolutionary War.

William Appleby II was born 1775 in Oella, Maryland. He married Rebecca Barry on Apr 17, 1803 in Oella. He died Aug 8, 1847 in Oella. Rebecca was born May 23, 1779 in Anne Arundel County, and died after 1870 in Oella. William's parents were William Appleby I and unknown Bell or Beall. They had a son, James, who was married to my ggg grandmother Caroline (unkn).

Thank you, Debra (Debi) Norris Gair
