再談"王甫"問題。"甫"字讀音容或有爭議,下文再說,首先談一談寫法。我向無線投訴多次,終於有一小姐回覆,謂編劇認識一名使用該複姓之人,其人稱他們已簡化"皇甫"為"王甫";這根本是胡說八道!姓氏不是私人財產,而是社會公用,不能隨意亂改;再者,大家知道,雖然"皇"與"王"在粵語是同音,但在普通話則分別是"Huang"和"Wang"。簡化這樣"大件事",怎會無聲無息便改了?這狡辯我絕不接受,不過無線錯了不認,則可以理解,畢竟認錯雖要勇氣。

至於讀音,嘉君堅持"甫"是讀"普",根據是唐代沒有"fu"音。嘉君博學,可能是受了清學者錢大昕影響。錢大昕考證出"古無輕脣音",即無現代之"f"音,此觀點亦廣為學界接受。不過要注意的是語音演變的問題,錢氏之謂古,乃先秦兩漢時代之上古音;而以隋唐時之中古音而論,誠然,隋朝之《切韻》尚未出現輕脣音,但至唐宋間出現之三十六字母,"非敷奉微"四輕脣聲紐已經從"幫滂並明"四重脣音分出,由此可見,"f"音之出現,是約在唐宋間。故此,我不能肯定唐人不能讀"f"音,還請嘉君不吝賜教。另外,要是"甫"字在唐朝只讀"普",因唐朝無"f"音的話,則在唐朝,"父親"可能讀作"pu 親","非常"可能讀作"悲常","入不敷支"可能讀作"入不 bu 支"。嘉君要把"甫"字復古讀唐音,那麼,"父"、"非"、"敷"等字又須不須要復古呢?查工具書,"皇甫"本是"皇父",那麼,即使"父"字在唐代是讀"pu",現代也已讀"府"(如"師父"),"甫"字是不是也應該跟著讀"府"呢?

"甫"字,黃錫凌先生的《粵音韻彙》"普""府"兩音皆收,但無注明用法;何文匯博士等編之《粵音正讀字彙》則只收"府"音。本人學識不多,很希望有識之士能夠解決這疑問,更希望傳媒能夠謹慎一些,不要誤導大眾。
