Marghie is the latest; I wonder how many other Franconia students became selectpersons. I served as selectperson for Lyman for 3 years beginning in 1987. It gave me a great appreciation for what the job entails - every week, meet for anywhere from 1-3 or more hours, dealing with all sorts of issues, people, etc. I ended up thinking that everyone in a town should have a turn at service of some sort, so they'd see what it takes. Maybe there'd be less complaining, once you'd had a chance at sitting on the other side of the table....
