IS THIS RECYCLABLE?

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - IS THIS RECYCLABLE? - GROUP EXHIBITION

This show invites artists in various mediums who utilize found objects, recycled materials, ready made objects and non-traditional materials for the creation of the artwork.

/Is this Recyclable?/ is in response to a shift in the art world where artists are using ready made pieces and found objects to create the work rather then purchasing their medium of choice. This show is curated by visual artist and Under Minerva curator, Vanessa Juriga. This is her 3rd curated show for the gallery.

The exhibition will run 19 August-26 September, 2009 and the
opening reception will be Friday, 21 August, 2009 from 7-9pm. ALL
MEDIUMS WELCOMED.

SUBMISSIONS SHOULD INCLUDE:

* Up to 5 digital images of the artwork sent as a cd or dvd, in jpg
format clearly identified with a descriptive list for the visual
material (title, date, medium, dimensions). Video art should be quick
time compatible.
* Curriculum Vitae
* Artist statement and bio information
* Contact information (phone number, email address)
* A self-addressed, pre-stamped envelope (if you would like your
submission returned)
* Submission fee: $15 (please make checks payable to Under Minerva
Gallery)

SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, 3 JULY, 2009 (POSTMARKED).

All selected artists will be notified by phone or letter by Friday,
17 July, 2009.
Selected artists are required to ship or deliver the work to and
from Under Minerva for installation.
All artwork must be framed (if applicable) and ready for
hanging/display. Video and multi-media artists will be required to
provide their own equipment.
