Subject: Positive this Year

I want to commend Dwight, Shane, Jack, and all other associated with the current projects. The car, pay, and combining the two tracks with endless possibilities and possitive outcomes. I will say that I have not been on to many committees, or sold to many tickets, but in the last 5-6 years I have drove many miles leaving work at 6:15 in Dodge to race at 7:30 and have shown up and supported the track as many others. I have made it to as many meeting as possible and sucked it up when things are not what I would agree to. I have brought my family in the pits to enjoy this sport we all love and now want to support my son in his carreer of racing. I would not want to do this at any other place that at Garden City. So when you base what has been decided on what you sold or what commitee you helped with on what rules are made at the track then that is not what you sell voting rights for. First of all the rules we voted on seemed to have been voted on over more than a few meetings, decided behind closed doors, or voted on by a few in a basement of a business. Not everyone wants to show up for a meeting that traditonally did not have the drive or any outcomes as the great team that we have this year. Not everyone can come to one or any of these meetings. We have some great things on the agenda. As far as the comment about sending my vote with another memeber. How would we know what is being talked about if it comes up from people at the meeting. I love to race just like the next guy. Through and through. I want to make a suggestion. I am not suggesting that we invent the wheel here. The safety rules, referee rules, and rules that are there to keep racers safe are golden Shane, Dwight and whoever else was involved did a great job on this. I guess what my question is I attended the last meeting and actually got in the mix about the rules and it was stated that they were in stone as of Dec. 15 or so, but yet I voted on a few items at that meeting. This informs me that we do not have everything figured out. Then Shane is proposing a new rule two days after he told me I could not change rules that were set in stone. I felt that if he can do this than the same $20 that I paid should entitle me to make a proposal. So here is my proposal.........
We add a rules commity, free up Dwight, Shane and others who have to much to do, and we handle this matter. We send out a ballot with the list of rules to every car that is planning on racing, everyone who raced last year, and vote and get the true feelings of our racers. Instead of spending money on parts that we might not use next year. If the people that the ballot is sent to do not return this paper by the time the due date is made, they are disqualified from the vote. This will give the true feelings on this rule matter. It will also include all racers in the vote. As far as being negative, this might sound that way, but I want 20 cars to enter the track and any of those 20 cars take the checkered flag on any night we race. That is what the fans want anyway. As far as mentioning that people do not volunteer for a commitee. Sign me up I will type, write, mail out, whatever we need to do to make a good race that all members of our club will enjoy. We are so focused on one or two items that we do not focus on other items. Now I want to hear the good and bad thoughts on this idea please. I feel that this is sometihng that needs to be addressed for our future. No hard feelings
