HOME. And "home" is of course FARWELL.
It's been a year. It seems like a month since I was there. I can't wait to meet my fellow CITs and cabin mates!

Hey Camp Farwell,
Guess what?? At 50, the 'King Of Pop' died. Yes, Michael Jackson. I was listning to Man In The Mirror on my ipod today. And i started to cry. SERIOUSLY!!! It's just so depressing. He changed pop so much. He created so many trends in clothing. Hairstyles, shoes, dance moves you name it. He was THE KING OF POP. Why did he have to die people?!?! Now, i know how it was like when John Lennon died. I never lived throught tough times like these ones. I don't know how to feel, sad, depressed, angry or frusterated. Yes, it is frusterating. He was only 50. Why did he have to die when i was starting to know his music more well, from all those camp experiences of at Lunch in the dining hall and when my whole cabin stood up when Man in The Mirror was playing and we lip singed. Or when my sister made a bet on how many times they will play 'Beat It' with her counsler. They played it 5 times in a row. Because, he was MICHAEL JACKSON. it's not the same as listening to 'Summer Days' from Grease or 'We Are The Champions' by Queen. It's just not the same. I can't resist listening to those songs again and again. But i never get tired of Michael Jackson. I hope people agree with me. Byeeeee. Can't wait till 2nd Session!!!
P.S. When i was listning to 'Man in The Mirror' i seriously, literally could smell the Sundays of Cookout and the Camp Fire from Camp Farwell. I love you guys

hey guys!!! it's me, lily sackman. i'm just checkin in. this summer it's going to be my 4th year!!! i am so excited!!! every day i think about camp farwell like what activities i'm going to do, and what i'm going to pack, also all the wonderful memories. hahahaha. i can't wait for the day to come. when my dad parks in the parking spot and i walk to the cabin i will be sleeping in for the next 3 weeks. I always have the feeling that i am so excited to be here once again to have a blast of summer fun but i am also getting the jitters of leaving home and having to take the deep water test in the deep dark lake where fishes nibble at my feet. whoa, i just totally got into writing mood there. okay, i will stop. anyway, IMANI DEAL IF YOU ARE READING THIS I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!! Hey guys so SUMMER 09 is nearly here and I am SO excited :) I fly out to NYC in 12 days and will arrive at camp in 13 days leaving little old England behind me for 3 months.
I cannot wait to see and spend my summer with returning staff, new staff, old and new campers :)
I'm also very excited to find out what the 2 musicals are that we get to do this summer :D and who my session 1 and session 2 cabins will be this year (BIG SHOUT OUT TO LAST YEARS SESSION 1 NUTCRACKER AND SESSION 2 ALOHA)
I hope to see some familiar faces in dance this summer ready to dance like nobody's watching and Michelle if your reading this, I am currently planning some new super lion goals like I promised you lol.

Hey guys.
So, it's April 22nd. And to me that can only remind me that in two months it will be June 22nd...and school will be ending...and a couple of days after I will be packing and getting up to camp again for SEVEN WHOLE WEEKS.
Last night and the night before it was raining and thundering outside and I intentionally opened my window very wide for it to remind me of those long cold nights at camp. It very much so worked. Despite the corniness.
Anyways I'm very excited to be a C.I.T. I really don't doubt that any girls in my cabin I will love and adore!
Cheryl, my mother and I filled out the online form you put up on the website, I just want to make sure you got it?

Hi everyone!
This is Alina posting, I attended Farwell for 3 years, including last summer.
Farwell is a very special place for me with great memories, but also a very pivotal memory--I had my first seizure at Farwell, '06. I can't speak more highly of the amazing way everyone at camp handled it. My counselor grabbed my stuffed animals and rode in the ambulance with me, and I still have the giant card you guys made for me, with a pink heart and stenciling, signed by everyone who was there during clinic week.
I have epilepsy, as you probably deduced from the above paragraph (visit www.epilepsy.com to learn more), and May 16, 2009, I am walking in the Walk for Epilepsy, along with some friends. Another Farwellite, Sarah (she's attended camp for 3 years and is going to be a CIT this year) is walking with me, too!
Since I know you all have great big hearts at Farwell, I'm asking for you Farwell born and Farwell bred girls to please donate!

Hey everyone! How are you?! I hope you all remember me (except for those people who just came to Farwell last year)! But anyway, I just realized that I forgot to post the other day when I really meant to - because I saw Zaida Garcia! =D We both live in the city but for some strange reason, we have never managed to get together in the past few yrs until now! It was so nice to catch up with an old camp friend, something that does not always work well outside of camp since camp friends do not always mesh well with a real life setting, but I was so happy to hear about Farwell as of last summer and to see a warm and friendly face - I love you, Zaida! - But anyway, I'm wishing everyone else the best and hope I can come down and visit next summer for a day! I miss you all! :D
I can hardly believe it's been so long since I first started going to Farwell. I was only 8, and it was always a big part of my life thereafter. My second home. My escape from life for just a few months. When life wasn't treating me well, it was always a safe haven that consoled me. I cannot fully express in words how much my time at Farwell meant to me, but I am eternally grateful for the time I spent in Vermont, and I got to know some amazing, unforgettable people who have made all the difference in my life. Thank you so much to everyone who made such an incredible experience possible. You are amazing!
I am currently in the process of applying to college and am now just waiting for acceptance letters. It's really exciting but at the same time extremely nerve-wracking and suspenseful. It seems like such a big, new, and important part of my life is just around the corner, and I can't wait! I also went to Ireland last summer on a community service program, mind you, with people I had never met beforehand, instead of camp, the first time I did something completely and utterly impulsive. But I just knew it was right and it was an absolutely life-changing experience, something that taught me that sometimes the most significant turning points in your life can materialize when you least expect them to and when you just go with the flow and follow your natural instincts. At this point, I still have no clue what I want to do with myself this summer, but I am sure that sooner or later the answer will come to me.
Anyway, enough of my rant. I miss you all, and anyone who remembers me, please feel free to write to me! My email is Rubytuesday314@aol.com. ;) Love you all! ¢¾

Hello Girls!
As usual, I am awful at keeping up during the year, and find myself rather busy...which is a terrible excuse for not keeping up on the message board. However, I have tons of free time on my hands right now, because I am very sick with a terrible flu. ickky. I've been sick for about a month now, and I'm getting very sick of being sick!! However, it brightens my day that the summer is just around the bend and will be here before we know it. And with luck I will be much better by then. I have checked out the new website, and I wanted to compliment Charyl on her hard work, it looks terrific! I was also pleased to see how many returning staff there are so far, lots of familiar faces, and some faces from the past.
I was talking to my dear friend Katy Sackman yesterday and most of our conversation after catching up with eachother, revolved around pre-camp excitment. Anywho, besides a terrible bug, as is well back here in Hamden. We haven't had a bad snow storm in a while, which I am happy about, so crossing my fingers I hope there is no more snow for the season, and we can pass into SPRING. Allegra and I are doing well, and everything has remained eventless in Hamden, which I supposed is probably good. Anywho, hopefully in a few days I'll be back on my toes and feeling well again. I hope everyone has a good rest of their term, and with their studies, and I can't wait to be back under the pines trees, laughing and smiling.

Greetings folks,
Sophie Wade here, aka Sap Bucketeer, Petting Zoo councelor, person with odd tendancy to skip/talk/etc. Just letting you know that both Teagan and I are fine, and that while the bushfires are quite close to Teagan, she has a fire plan set in place should she need to enforce it. They are the worst fires Australia has ever seen, the death toll now more than double our worst fire of the past. So fingers crossed Vistoria (our state) gets a healthy dose of rain (which hasn't happened in years, hense the problem in the first place) to put the fires out and give relief to an even further drought ridden country.
Just had a look at the staff page and I can't believe how many people are returning... Now I want to go back even more! I really want to come back but University holidays dictate that I can't. I had a dream the other day that I did come back... it was marvellous.
Hope school is well and you're ready for another exciting Summer!

I am ready to jump of the docks and into the lake at farwell. Listen to the crickets and the sound of laughter as i sit in my bunk at night, hear the donkey's heh hawing when i could still be sleeping. Watch Shelby give the morning announcements as i eat. Wait for my counsler to bring in the mail during quiet time. Have those first day jitters as i choose my activities, haul the super heavy laundry bag down to the wash room. And finally at the end of the day get in that big circle and sing... Camp Farwell CAmp Farwell we love so our dear camp in Vermont we here your call neath the pines Camp Farwell... turn around and head to our cabin for a deep sleep

Hello My Farwellites!
It's been ages since I've last visted the board or even posted! I'm not quite sure if anyone will remember me, I was a camper a few years ago as well as a C.I.T. I do remember most of my little campers, who are no longer little!, from all the posts on the board. I'm glad to see you girls are keeping your farwell pride!
I was thinking of farwell on christmas eve as I lit my farwell candle from the last summer I was there. It was great remembering all the amazing memories I had from all those summers.My riding ribbons are still displayed proudly in my room. It seems like only last summer I was running around the windsurfing dock and singing songs by the campfire. Just the other day I was teaching my boyfriend a few tunes while we were waiting for the thanksgiving parade to start. He loved the Titanic Song!
Also, Congrats to Shelby on the new bundle of Joy and as well as Lexi and Little Dave!
Hopefully, I'll be able to drive up this coming summer for a long ovedue visit!

nothing's changed really since the last time i posted...well...nothing important should i say? haha
just doing the same things as usual.
well ACTUALLY i was just in a david mamet play, "the revenge of the space pandas"!
just decorated the tree...made cookies...watched "meet me in st. louis"
and thinking of camp.
and how fast this whole year goes. that before we know it we're gonna be unpacking our trunks for a long seven/four/three weeks in a drafty wood cabin. not that that's bad. it made me who i am today. so i'm grateful for those icey mornings and the times i would get back from camp and think..."whoa. its actually BURNING outside."
but anyway, before i get rambling,
i wish everyone a HAPPY HOLIDAY(s)

hello farwelliets!i really miss choppy waterz! even if i've been there for 3 years straight every summer. i loved how small it wuz i used to hate but now i miss it a ton! i really miss marley with those faces she had and how
she dragged me to play mud soccer! i really miss Imani who i've been with in the same cabin for 2 summers. it wuz my home. it wuz my home even if at 7:00 in the morning i had to get my sweatshirt and get my flipflops and when i stepped onto the grass i felt the cold frost swish across my farwell feet. i luved how in 3rd period i had to go in the lake and dive while i wuz kicking all over the place because i wuz so afraid from the fishies under me looking at me and thinking that it's summer time and farwell is opening up again and singing Farwell Born. i just miss camp and next year i'm going to be a junior. my sis is so lucky she gets to stay in Vermont for 7 weeks and i stay for 3 weeks it just goes to fast. i'm afraid to blink becuase i know before i know it my friends are going to be crying over my shoulder at banquet when the counselers are singing "under the pine trees".well my cat is like touching the computer screen whenever i type something. so...... like this is long. i just needed to let out my expressions hehehe. xoxo lily

why hello my loves.
i know, it's crazy how i keep coming back to this page but i've decided that i actually will keep everyone posted on my life throughout the year. hahah! whether you like it or not girls!
it seems that camp people still come back into our lives throughout the year as well as at camp.
so far me and charlotte have seen each other once, tori and ellie came to visit and we're seeing each other throughout the yearr, plus it's an extremely small world and i get to creep into missy's life through a bunch of people. hahaha
today me and my dad went on a hike and the sign of the leaves turning color made me extremely sad inside. the fact that life is still moving on. that we're all back at school. and that another year will pass and we'll all be back together again, gives me a feeling of being alone, but always bonded with all of you lovies.
hopefully everyones having a good year. even though it's pretty hard with school and such...
i would love to hear from every single one of you!
seven weeks at camp next year! oh. and...CITs '09 muchh???

Hello All!! It was a cold rainy day today in Bradford/Newbury VT. I took my gang of dogs up to camp for a run around. I was met by Charyl who accompanied us on our wet walk. We had a great time together in the rain! Camp looks so beautiful right now. The leaves are falling and changing and the grass is super GREEN. It is very quiet except for the exceptionally loud bang of the acorns hitting the cabin rooves. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the fall (if its happening where you live!) and the War Canoes are being moved to shelter in the pavilion along with the surf boards, the night-watch table is back close beside the house for the convenience of pre-camp workers in the spring and Farwell appears to be a camp-in-waiting.
There is something sad about the bare quiet.

He was huge with humongous antlers.
Charyl saw him in the yard in front of the lodge office.
She got the camera and started out but he had moved past the pavilion and the shower house and when she got out there he was not in sight.
She went out a little later to track him. Chuck had noticed that the water in the lake was disturbed but he hadn't seen anything just prior to the moose sighting. Charyl found signs that the moose had indeed been by the water's edge.
She tracked him to the tennis courts where he had left evidence of his investigation. That is puzzling. She went deeper into the woods where she heard and saw him on the other side of a clump of trees. The ground was swampy and her photos were fuzzy.
He seemed in no hurry and Charyl's presence was barely noticed.
Too bad he didn't pose for a classic shot.

Oh Jeez. How I miss camp..
I'm back home now - it's so weird to be in a place without American accents, I barely recognise a Scottish one anymore! And it's strange to be in a place where there's no jukebox blaring at dinner, and no one to sing and dance with at the table!
I was with Sophiw in Kerrie's Merry Band of Travelers (or sheep, as we have also been known) and I don' think a day went by without a lengthy discussion about camp!
Those of use hoping to come back are already counting down the days, and the people who don't think they can come back are busy trying to sort everything out at home so they can!
I miss EVERYONE from camp! Especially all my loevly campers from 7th Heaven, Sap Bucket / Syrup Jug, and Pine Needles (the shirt is getting moving very soon!!)!!

Hey everyone.
I'm finally back home in good old England and OMG is it strange or what, but it's good to be back in my own bed lol.
Missing the Farwell bubble and my dancers Michelle, Abby, Julie, Kelsey and everyone else that took my dance classes :)Also missing the lovely bell to wake me up every morning!!
Travelling was amazing after camp. Went to NYC, Washington DC, San Diego, Hollywood, Las Vegas and Santa Ana with Becky, Claire O, Steph L, Nat and Liam.
Missing all the staff. So lucky that I got to work with a great bunch of people. Will always remeber the memories.
Hope to come back next year fingers cross

oh my darling girls it seems that it has been almost two weeks since i left camp while my eyes had been completely exhausted of tears i hadn't really realized that i was leaving until kerry started chasing my car down the road and i couldnt pass it off with just a laugh.
of course, walking into a cafe on the way home with irati's smile face on my nose didnt help my dignity any more than it had when i couldnt order my food without my eyes welling up. i mean seriously! what happened to table order and not having any control over what you were eating!
now i'll have to find some nerdy sixth grader to play "magic the gathering" with seeing as i have my cards and they give me quite a laugh when i look back on them.
school for me starts next wednesday [ahhaha elena my dear! i'm sorry for your early start :D]
oh sophie how i'll miss your sarcastic remarks and the way you say "dude"!
and elena...you're probably the most amazing girl i've ever known. i could never ask for anything more in a friend, or a person.
mmmph. okay. yeah. i'm still not over the whole "lets stay at camp for three weeks and then come back and be all happy and shop for school clothes and happily get back on the bus at 6:45 in the morning"
whoa this post is long but i have a lot on my mind...
i miss you all more than words can even express even after i read through two jane austen books in three days.

Well, My husband and I welcomed our first daughter, Pandora Sivan Marie Ernst into the world on August 20th, 2008. she was 5lb 7 oz and 18 in long and was born with two bottom front teeth!!! She has kept me very busy this past week but we wouldn't have it any other way. I am looking forward to the day when I tearfully leave her at the steps of her cabin at Camp Farwell!!!

How we miss you. I'm currently part of a gang called Kerry's Merry Gang of Travellers (a bunch of counselors) travelling the country most of you call home (America). The Farwell bubble, kids, counselors, directors, goats, donkeys, calves, rabbits, kittens, ducks, chickens and horses are all dearly missed. You would not believe how much.
So, I'm going to email my Uni in an attempt to get 10 weeks off in the middle of the year (goodluck Sophie...) so I can come back next year... I'll let you know how that goes.

Hello All my lovely Farwellites,
I can't believe how fast the summer passes this year, it went by way too fast for my liking. But I will admit I think this summer was the best so far since I've been at camp. I've been home just chilling around the house, and spending my last few days left of summer with my friends, or a good book. I finished Breaking Dawn a few days ago, and it was amazing, haha, I wish i had time at camp to read it so I could talk to people about it, but with the musical, and banquet letters, I lacked the free time. I still haven't gotten my photo developed yet which is killing me because I can't wait to laugh at all the waky pictures I took. My foot is still messed up, my mom and I together made the decision to not go to the doctor, because when we do all they are going to tell me is to rest and tape my foot, which is exactly what I'm doing. But my mom is a nurse so if it starts looking really bad we will go. My mom said its most likily a hairline fracture, or a bad jaming that turned into a stress fracture. HIII Oh Da!!!!! I just got home like 45 minutes ago from the longest car ride EVER! It took around like 7 hours! And I had to pee!!!!!! I was so sad this morning when i left but i cannot wait for next summer and all the stuff that is to come such as: meeting new people, pushing ShClare out of the hay loft, actually taking archery etc.! And i cannot wait to get the "shirt of the traveling needles" from Sunnie!

Hey guys, just been reading some messages and looking at some pictures - but not too many in case I get too upset from missing camp!
Looks like everyone is having a fantastic time out there! You guys are all really lucky. I couldn't find any pictures of the musicals or plays though. I hope they were all brilliant - I'm sure they were!
I'm currently working on my own play (well, it's written by Jim Cartwright - he's very good) which I'm going to be performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in just a week. I've finally learnt all my lines (just like I'm sure all Farwell's budding actresses have done) and we're just putting the finishing touches together. I'm really looking forward to it.
Anyways, a big hello to campers, counsellors and directors alike - make the most of the rest of second session!

This is Lucie, last year's dancing counselor. I just had a look at this year's pictures and.. oh how I wish I could be back at Farwell! But I have exams in July and May coming up so there is no time..I saw many familiar faces and I have to say that it's amazing how you all have changed and grown through this year.
