I agree with Marissa's response to question 2. I agree that the constant worrying would way heavy on someone. I agree too that there are potential ways to help handle the disease, such as eating right and exercising. I know that if I had the knowledge that I was carrying a gene marker, it would definetely affect my mental state. That must be the hardest part of finding out that you have a marked gene.
Marissa also believes that a person who has the marked gene is not necessarily sick. I would agree with her here, as well. It is only after the genetic testing that a person is aware whether or not they have the marked gene. So a person could choose not to find out, and continue living their life normally, (unless they have the marked gene, and then it would surface at one point).
