Not only can one’s physical health be affected by having a marker gene, one’s mental health can be affected too. The constant pressure and worry about when the marked gene will surface has to have an effect on the mental health of the afflicted person. Someone who has the gene is not necessarily sick because, if not for genetic testing, you would not know whether or not the person has the gene. In terms of managing your health, a person with a marked gene can aim to live a healthier life by eating the right foods and exercising. Although a person may be marked, if you lead a healthy lifestyle you may affect the severity of the disease, and you may delay its onset.
