I agree with Angelique. If I had the genetic mutation and my sibling did not, I am sure I would feel some sort of relief because I would be glad that he/she would not have to be going through what I would be. No one wants to see anything bad happen to someone they love. At the same time, however, I believe that it is natural tendency to feel jealousy towards someone who's situation is better than yours, even if it is a sibling. I would hope that my sibling would be there for me if things did get rough. I would rather not have them pity me or feel bad, but just be supportive. Likewise, I would try my best to be there for my sibling if he/she had a genetic mutation and I did not. I agree with Ang when she said she would feel guilty. I would also. I think it is human nature for people to feel guilty about things, even if it is not their fault. I would just try to be aware of the situation and show my sibling that I am there for him/her and will be through anything.
