Although I feel it is impossible to know how one would feel without actually being in the situation, I would like to think that I would be glad that my sibling would not have to suffer the way I do, and that I would be able to handle this problem better. Being that I am very close to my sibling, I would not want to see my sibling suffer and be in mental and physical anguish. However, since I am ill, I would expect that my sibling would be there for me, and that he or she would help me to get better. If the tables were turned, and I was the one that was spared from this genetic mutation, I would feel so guilty. I would probably feel as if it were my fault that my sister was given the mutation and not me. I would feel obligated to be with my ill sibling constantly, always keeping a watchful eye out in case something happens. I would most likely constantly worry over her condition. I would want my sister to know that I would always be by her side.
