But THAT wish would be non-vengence related, we know that teleportation for vengence demons is not an inherent ability in fact but rather a work related perk. The amount of power involved implies to me that this would be so much more the case for a wish.

We have several examples of vamps saying they could 'smell' the soul on humans and a couple of similar cases of demons being able to identify vampires on sight, so whilst there is nothing specific that I can recall regarding vampires being able to 'make' demonic nature (although there's something at the back of my mind about Angel doing this at one point) I interpret Spike's actions as an indication that he had identified Anya's 'reversion to type'. Nothing solid to back that up with though.
