In reply to: Redd 's message, "Yes, please let's wrap things up! IE GET ME OUTTA HERE!" on 12:30:07 07/09/01 Mon

"I am not merry, but I do beguile
The thing I am by seeming otherwise."
--from Shakespeare's 'Othello'

For a moment, RJ feared his plans were discovered -and consequently ruined- before he noticed Redd was too bubbly and excited to notice anything short of an elephant.

"But of course, no problem. I'm sorry you had to wait so long, but it's corporate policy to use our weapons as little as possible here, so other cultures can not learn about our presence or technology. I may have gone rogue, but it's a wise directive I think, and old habits die hard."

He cleared his throat.
"Gouda? You heard the lady."
A gentle, unintrussive chime sounded in response.

"There. We've accelerated, dropped out of stealth and none of our weapons are active. Your friends can see us, and are be able to tell we're not hostile. We should be able to transport you back in a matter of minutes."

A matter of minutes later...

Redd was ready.
The transporter was ready.
RJ was more than ready.
"So, ready to go back?"
