Hello Fellas

My questions are about getting an older dog into shape, and turning a big game dog onto coon. The dog I bought was DJ Flemlee's Stewart Mountain Dubh age 8 yrs male. Very nice mellow dog to have around. I recently had him neutered, he is tied, on a senior dog diet. He gets 1-2 hrs of off leash time with me daily during the week and more on the weekends. It is a long drive to the dirt roads from here, about 45 minutes. we have a 1/4 mile community driveway that is gravel and I could run him there, back and forth. How fast and how long? How hard should I push him? I can also swim him on the lake, but without a leash, he probably won't follow. Is a leash behind a rowboat with trolling motor a crazy idea? How about a life jacket? :) The vet says he has a heart murmur, but is otherwise healthy. I want to get him into coons as well, trying hard to get him one before the season ends the 15th. We don't have a training season in WA.

Thanks,
Dave
