Lane Davies, all the way. GT was a fine actor and to be honest I was surprised (and irritated) by how good he was at times. But Lane created the definitive Mason - the emotionally inaccessible character with a lot of sadness in him, which came across even when he was doing those comic drunk scenes. He was the emotional centre of the show, and it was never the same after he left. GT's Mason was a lot more open and carried his heart on his sleeve - which I didn't think fit in with the character.
