Clayton Sobecki, QB, Air Force. Four years of eligibility left. selected as TAPPS D2 Offensive Player of the year and All-Private School First Team Offense. Also ran track in high school. He set school record with 1:28:43, 2nd in 4x100m and set school record (42.83). Looks like he has Nolan Grooms type skills. Brother Hayden currently plays baseball for Yale.

Air Force had him listed as a WR and that’s the position shown on his ON3 profile.

I know Yale has more. I would hope that they would keep the posting board open. Thanks again.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Yale converted him to a DB to replace Breylan Thompson. He played that position in High School and he has tremendous speed.

Based on comments heard during last season Bradyn would likely have been the starter this year. Whether it be football or basketball it is obvious schools with NIL resources are taking advantage of the recruitment skills of our coaches to identify talent. Takes all the fun out of seeing who James Jones and Tony Reno have recruited when the best of the recruitment class will likely be lured away.

Loosing a player to Stanford is one thing, but Ball State?! Has a Yale degree lost that much of its luster?

These schools use the league as a local convenience store..To pick up players. Start taking care of these athletes. Maybe some in cash and apportion in a money market or mutual fund.

Or even just a scholarship that covers the cost of attendance?

I agree the Ivy League needs to adopt athletic scholarships. Basically, for around a decade I’ve been strongly advocating for the Ivy League to adopt the same rules as the Patriot League, their historic OOC scheduling partner. They rule changes are:

1) FCS playoffs
2) an 11 game schedule (rest of FCS now at 12)
3) athletic scholarships (which will allow for FBS opponents)

One down, three to go. At the glacial pace of change we’ve grown accustomed to in the Ivy League, this is good progress. Hopefully in the next ten years we’ll see another domino ot two fall.

Yale is getting pretty thin at QB. They should probably move Robby Tattersall to the QB position which he played very well at in High School.

Gentlemen; maybe there was a disconnect with the offensive coordinator. Mr. Jordan was a pleasant surprise last year. Hopefully there is another surprise at the signal calling position and linebacker.

Gentlemen; there was a time during my matriculation when Yale degree meant something. Then things progressed. It became more important for a graduate degree. I have a hard time understanding how another signal caller leaves to go to David Letterman U.. We assume it's the NIL but in reality, it may be something else . It may be better to hear from the horses mouth as to the reason for leaving otherwise Yale man for something else.
