You know ... one of the reasons I do love Paul and Meg is not only because RH and MWil have terrific chemistry together ... but also because their Story is so damned (really, hee!) Soapy. Nothing is easy for them ... nothing is simple. Not only is the deck stacked against them individually and as a couple ... they unfortunately play some of those cards badly. But you know what? Even when I get all "oh NO! No no no NO!" there is a rootability there that keeps me riveted. I WANT them to prevail. It's Soap. Re: How do you make the pain go away? LIke the song says. Im such a freaking cornball. Im still crying and its almost 5 PM EST....two hours following the show. How she held his hand the whole time while Craig berrated them. Too much love there to type about. I feel so sorry for them both. Im scared for their well being. They're both strong. But this could break them as individuals and maybe their bond. I just want them to somehow make it through....and have it stick. No more one day reunions for PEG. I want their love to shine for all the World to see. FOREVER. (you know soap world kind of forever.) btw..what is the name of the song playing in the background TK....its hauntingly beautiful. Hey Jen, and everyone, I was severly depressed after watching today's show, and I won't be able to watch it again for a long time. I DO understand the complexities of everything, but even in "old" soapland, there was a payoff at some point. After 2 years of watching Paul and Meg, I'm still waiting for their payoff. And it's frustrating me enormously. I seriously had to leave my house after today's show b/c I was so upset (how ridiculous is that!?). Great work to MWil and of course, RH. BUT it keeps our story going. I know our guy has a great story coming up. And I am gonna hang in there for more payoffs - AND a win for Paul. They did a terrific job today! Ah ... Miss Becks. I do understand. It is frustrating and after Fridays show, heartbreaking. But, and I am not trying to minimize your feelings or need for a break ... it's par for the course in Soap for me. As not just a Paul fan ... but an old Todd fan, let alone other characters and couples I followed for years on other soaps ... this is all pretty much by the book. Sigh. What always gets me through is the acting. I've always seen Soap as basically an exploration of Emotional Response to circumstances ... of all kinds. I think that is what the hard to take plots are all about. Do I want "payoffs" ... yes. But in my many years of watching ... they have been always brief for the characters I follow. But the emotional depictions ... the moments when I actually forget I'm watching TV ... make it worthwhile for me. Listen ... I'm not trying to preach to you here.
