Subject: Questions about sails/furling

At the moment all my new Dana has for a headsail is a 100% working jib. I'm looking at something bigger such as a 150% genoa. I've been reading about sails a bit and while Jay has recommended dacron I also have been reading that alot of people seem to use a dacron main with a laminar head sail. Also on North sails website they have this Marathon 3DL listed as a cruising sail as well. What are your takes on this? Spectra? Dacron? Carbon? Kevlar? 3DL? I'm lost.

It does have roller furling as well on the jib and I'm not sure how big of a fan I am yet since my last boat was hank on and I had no issues with it. What are the pros and cons here? Seems to me like roller furling is only slightly easier... With a jib downhaul it seems just as easy with a hank on head sail. Plus wouldn't it be a lot easier to change your head sails with hank on sails as well?
