I am trying to find out more information on my ancestor, William Dixon Campbell Denovan. He was born in Edinburgh in 1829 and in 1852 he emigrated to Australia. He sailed on 'The Mobile'. In 1853 he settled in Bendigo and was very active in the Gold Rush. He was a miner and a radical republican and represented gold diggers and fought for their rights. His mother was Margaret, who followed William to Bendigo. He supposedly never married and died in Bendigo in 1906. I am seeking any information on him and also trying to confirm that he did indeed, never marry.

Johan August Martinsen was an uncle of my mother. He was born in Minesota USA in 1885 but his parents and family went back to Norway in 1886. He grew up in Norway and left his family at a age of about 15 to be a sailor. In 1907 he came to Australia and from 1914 to the end of the
WW1 he was fighting in the war. After the war he married
Florence Susannah Watson. They lived at the small place
Nullawil in WA and got two daughters, one of them named Jeane. The other one married a man named Wigliy.
No contact with the family since early 1950th.

I am looking for any information in regard to William ALDRICK who arrived in Port Jackson on the "John and Lucy" in 1857 and any of his descendants. He married Naomi Isabella Musto and they had 4 children Shadrach (died at 2 years of age) Frederick (my grandfather) and Willi Ernest. These last 2 went to WA.
I am also researching the McNeill family in SA. I believe they arrived on the "North" around 1867. They came from Lanarkshire. They arrived with one child Jane as far as I know, but then had John Bridget Thomas Archibald Malcolm and my grandmother Ann Ellen - all born at Millicent. Their mothers name was Jane Giles McBride. Would welcome any information on these two families.

Seeking information on James CEELY and Isabella GARDENER. James was born at Kent, England and arrived in Australia in 1853. He headed to the goldfields around Castlemain, Taradale, California Gully etc.
He later moved to Narrandera NSW where he died in 1895.
Apparently James left a family behind in England.

Dear Kate,
My name is Kylie, I was born in 1968 to Margaret Porter, father Ranald Winks. I have never met him! My mother has some information - regarding his family from QLD? Had made contact 8 years ago to another partner of his around the same time frame. A busy man I believe.
In all seriousness as a now happily married person and mother of 3 tremendous children there are times I would dearly love to put the piece of jigsaw together regarding birth father. A long shot in contacting you yet would be tremendous to obtain basic family history/health information. kind regards,
Kylie M Riley

Mary born Inniskillen,County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland about 1837 (from her death certificate). Have seen her name spelt all different ways including Malkehoney, McHanly.
Mary started off in Victoria somehow, she had a partner James Kennedy born in England. Mary and James had a few kids in Vic: Alice, Francis, James, ?male, then in NSW had William, Charles, ?female.(2 unknowns died fairly young)
James Jnr Kennedy mar Annie Hewitt in Dubbo
William Kennedy mar Elizabeth Garnsey near Dubbo
Charles Kennedy mar Sarah Garnsey in Dubbo
Mary was later with a John McLeish ?married, and she died as Mary McLeish 1900 Narromine NSW.
I haven't found any Victorian history yet on either Mary or James or how and when they came to Australia/Vic.
Nothing on their daughter Alice Kennedy either, born about 1857 Victoria, moved to NSW with family.
Their second child Francis born abt 1860 Vic. maybe him that married Hannah Varty in Dubbo NSW 1889.
