Thanks for your response -- I didn't know about the "Ask a Librarian" service; I'm sure that will be helpful. We don't know which State he went to, but I could just try each one. I had tried to find electoral rolls online, but with no luck. Can you tell me how I can contact this service?
Unfortunately, we can't narrow down when he went to Australia, either. As close as we can get is that it was probably between 1949 and 1988!!
