Subject: A Discovery

I climbed into the machine to have a look but Mum made me get out. Then she closed the door and the clothes started going round and round and tumbling all over each other. It was fascinating. I sat and watched it for ages. I tried to stand up and touch the clothes but I couldn't because the glass door was in the way. When the clothes came out they were all lovely and warm and I tried to snuggle up in them but Mum wouldn't let me.

I did have a brother called Henry - some of you may remember him - but sadly he died before I was born. I have a sister called Mitsi. She is a huge, fat tabby and quite a snobby piece actually. She hardly ever speaks to me so we keep our distance. I have a brother called Ollie who is a black and white puppy of around three months of age. He's quite a nice chap for a dog and we get along OK. My record so far is six birds in one day! Dad's glad I'm keeping the birds out of the paddocks and reckons he won't need a scarecrow!! Mum thinks it's fine for me to catch birds but she seems to have a problem with me 'playing' with them on the doormat outside the glass door so everyone can watch, and then hiding the remains in the shrub next to the door. My other hobbies include climbing very high up trees and draping myself along the wood paling fence while taking in the sun.

Mum and Granny Smith took us to the vets this morning for our jabs. Boris and Doris came too for theirs. We taught them the words of "the song" in the car. We had a six part harmony going at one point. Mum says she needs a drink to calm her nerves, I don't know what she means. I hope she doesn't go out with Beccy and Simon again, like last week. I want my dinner on the table at six o'clock.
