She's feeling rather sorry for herself and can't come to the computer tonight. It's been a hard day for her - a blood test, an operation and being microchipped. All on an empty stomach too. Hopefully she'll feel well enough to give you a progress report tomorrow.

On Sunday there was a really horrible noise coming from Mum's bathroom. I thought that there was a big monster in there. It was making lots of shrieks.

Anyway, it turned out that Mum and Dad were showering Polly's rear because she was a bit smelly and she was making the horrible sounds.

We're finally allowed to use the computer again. Mum and Dad have been back for nearly a week, but Mum said that we couldn't use the computer until Granny had gone home. Then we had to wait two more days, because Mum is feeling poorly with a cold. We missed you all!

One evening I sneaked out past Granny and it took her an hour to realise I was missing. I had to sit under the hedge and wait for her to come looking for me. It wasn't much fun really. It was cold and dark. I won't try that again, especially as we've now got horrible white stuff all over the ground. Even the big cats are staying at home today.

I got my first rosette yesterday. My photo came first in the "Rescue cat or kitten" class. (Mum entered Polly in that class too, but she didn't win a prize!) However, Polly got first place in "Tortoiseshell cat". We both won a red rosette, a catnip toy and a present for Mum.

It is possible that our Mommy can spoil all of the furry babies up there in the UK. She is visiting an Englishman in Luxemburg and he said he might be able to take her up to Scotland. Now, where are your mummies located? Mommy will be travelling January 7 - 13.

My new human sister is alright I suppose. She doesn't make much noise but she does smell funny sometimes. Mum and Dad spend a lot of time cuddling her instead of me, which is a bit rough since I was here first. I can cope with that OK, but I'm not so happy that I'm not allowed to sleep inside at night now, just in case I try to sleep with my new sister. Hopefully I'll be allowed back in one day soon.

Mum had a phone call from our Auntie Jan today to say that our cousin Seymour had to be put to sleep yesterday. He was 16, and had nasty growths in his ears. The vet said he probably wouldn't have survived the operation anyway. We still have our cousin Harley though. Seymour has been given a proper funeral, and buried in a box in the garden.

Could you please keep your paws crossed for Mum tomorrow? In about 12 hours she'll sit in her final oral exam in German Lit and she is dreadfully nervous.
One of the texts going to be discussed has a cat as its main characater. That bodes definitely well, doesn't it?
Oh, and an extra big hello to the Murphy cats and Mum says thank you to you and your parents for the b-day parcel. She's going to open the present tomorrow morning in bed to start the day with something beautiful. :O)

Every time I pass the pet shop in the mall, I see the most
adorable tortie, Scottish Fold kitty. I gush over her
every time I see her and have named her "Sweetheart"/
I looked up at the price and they want almost
$700 (about 1,500 pounds) for her. *Sigh*

I am still dating and the man I choose has to either
own a kitty or adopt one. Who knows, maybe we'll get
a pretty tortie and a black & white kitty!

Three of the big cats have been to see the vet for their boosters. Polly thought that she'd got to go too and hid under the bed! Anyway, Mum says that they were all very good. They have to go back to get their teeth looked at though. That sounds horrid, especially because they aren't allowed to eat the night before. I hope that me and Polly don't have to be starved too.

Mum got the results of another Cat Photo Show. Polly got 1st place in "Best tortoiseshell" and 1st place in "Best Rescue cat". Mia got 3rd place in "Best tabby". And best of all, Polly was named as "Champion Cat" in the whole competition!!!

So that means four more rosettes for me to play with. Mum got some prizes too - an ornament (which looks like me), some writing paper and a notebook. She says that we can have tuna tonight to celebrate.

Mum got on the internet and showed her two favourite Aunts
pictures of Polly reclining (and looking adorable),
Mwg sticking his tongue out (that mischievous little boy),
and Sassy in the blanket (looking cute as a button), they also saw Martha Mavis Moo Moo Fluff (looking like a movie star).

Aunty Lib said that Sassy looks just like Scarlett's mother
Maxi (1967 - 1992). Aunt Lib and Mum adored Maxi and
revered her as the Grand Dame of cats.

Here's hoping that Sandy and Julie had a great time.
So Jago, who is your new girlfriend? Polly? She's pretty enough to be a "Scarlett O'Hara" and have many beaus.

The big cats have won some rosettes in a photo competition and I got to play with them!

Oh, I almost forgot. Polly got 1st in "Best Tortie", Ebony got 1st in "Best Black" and Mia got 2nd in "Best Tabby". Also Polly got 4th in "Best cat with other animal" and 5th in "Best cat from Cats Protection". Mum says that me and Treacle might win another time.

Jago,your mum must be on some magical diet.
She can eat Entenman's cake, carrot cake and
fudge and stay as thin as a fashion model.

Our aunt's cat Heba (they wanted a girl "Sheba"
and had to improvize) used to eat chocolate easter bunnies
and chocolate ice cream. Grandma says, "Heba is the damndest animal, he can eat anything".

What sweets can you eat? I never touch the stuff
myself.

We all know that pretty Polly is a kitty beauty queen and Sassy is as cute as a button, but mum swears she saw Martha and her glamourous fur coat in a movie.

Mum says Martha reminds her of a 1930 movie star with that fur coat of hers. Mum says she saw a pretty fluffy kitty in "Pretty Kitty". Does Martha have a film credit? She must be a movie star because she had her teeth capped recently.

Mum and dad have been trying to poison me with great big tablets. They've wrapped me up in a towel, and shoved a great big pill popper in my mouth with a nasty pill in it. I spat it straight back out again, bit Mum and scratched Daddy on the hand.

The funny thing is, they gave up then, and a small saucer of delicious red salmon appeared, all for me. It had little gritty bits in it, but I ate it all up. They say I can have salmon for the next week. Yum.

I'm just back from the dentist. I can't stand up straight, and I'm wobbling all over the place. Mum's put me in my little bed and told me to stay there. I think I will. The dentist took two of my teeth out, and I've got to have tablets for a week. I'm feeling really sorry for myself. Boo!

When I went to the vets for my needle last time, he said my teeth needed seeing to, so I'm off to the dentist on Wednesday. They're going to give me another needle to put me to sleep while they do it. I'm being really brave, but I'm a bit scared. I can't have any supper Tuesday night either.

Mum says that if Babe is a sheep pig I am a duck cat. We keep getting lots and lots and lots of ducks in our garden and sometimes they just won't go away. Mum was having problems yesterday. They had eaten all the bread and wouldn't leave so I rounded them up and steered them under the gate into the river. She was very pleased, especially as I didn't try to catch them.

I was a very good girl. The older cats had taught me the "Going to the vet" song before I went so I got that bit right. The vet said that I am very healthy. She stuck a big needle in me and I only gave one little squeak. She said that I might be drowsy later, but I wasn't. Everyone seemed a bit disappointed about that!

Hello Sassy. I saw your picture and I think you look really cute. I'm glad you've made new friends so quickly too. It's good to have friends to play with. I wish I had some friends to even things up a bit as I'm rather outnumbered now. Mum says we're getting a new arrival in October but it will only have two legs and won't have any fur, and I'm not allowed near it, even when it cries and needs feeding in the middle of the night. She says I'm to be on my best behaviour and not be mean to it. I don't know what all this means but if it turns out anything like the other little two-legged furless beings here, I'm not sure I'll be best pleased. I can only wait and see.

Daddy found a tiny baby frog murdered on the patio last night. He went mad and said we were all going to be packed off to the naughty cats home! We were all frightened, but Mum said he didn't mean it really. We're being very nice to him this morning, just in case.

I wish I could take my fur coat off. I've even gone off eating my dinners because I'm so hot. What do you all do to cool off?
